How to survive in HARDCORE mode on Minecraft!

Some people may think hardcore mode is extremely difficult due to these things: More monsters at night, and one life. But hardcore mode is basically just survival, with a few tweaks. From personal experience, hardcore mode is actually pretty easy once you get used to it and it makes Minecraft even more fun! So, let me get straight to the point.

Since you only have one life, you need to stay alive, and this is how:

Step one: Starting off

Once you have spawned, you need to look at your surroundings. What kind of trees are there? Is there any trees near you? Any animal arounds for food? What biome are you in? You need to ask yourself these questions in order to continue. If your in a desert, try to find a different biome as fast as you can. The reason for this is that there is no trees for you to get wood from. I like the biomes with normal trees, but it's up to you. Once you have found the biome you like, start chipping wood blocks off the trees with your hands. Next, craft some wooden planks into a crafting table. Next craft some sticks with the wooden planks. After that create all the necessary tools such as: A pickaxe, a spade, a sword, and an axe. Now you are prepared. If you need any help crafting things click on the link, here: www.minecraft-crafting.net/

Step two: Protecting yourself from death

Remember, you only have a limited time to do all these things before dark. Firstly, find some sheep and get the wool from them. Now you can make a bed just incase night falls before you finish what you have started. Next find some animals such as: Pigs and cows. I recommend cows because not only do you get raw beef from them, but you get leather from their skin. And as most of you already know, with leather you can make armour. There are currently four different types of armour, but at the moment leather would be the best type you can make. Pigs would also be good for food, as they give you pork, but they don't have leather. Chickens would be ok but I'd advise you not to eat raw chicken otherwise you'd get sick.

Step three: Houses

Sure, usually people go to a real-estate agent to get a house, but in Minecraft, that's a different story. Start chopping down trees with your newly-made axe to start off your house. Make it as big as you want, but for now, since you may or may not have enough time, try to make it a small house so that you actually get it finished. You can choose to make this house temporary, and move to somewhere different later, but for now, this part is all about getting settled and protected. After you've finished, place your bed and crafting table somewhere around the house. Make sure that your bed doesn't touch any walls so that monsters dont spawn right next to you when you try to sleep. If you feel like it. Go down underground to get some cobble to upgrade your tools and make a furnace.

Step four: Farming (Optional)

To start off with farming you will need to make a hoe. If you don't know how to make one click on the link in step one. Next break some long grass to get seeds. If you are near a swamp biome that is great because usually sugarcane grows there. If you see and melons or pumpkins on the surface make sure to get them and turn them into seeds. Now, you will need water so either make a river of water from the closest water sorce, make your farm near a water sorce or go underground, get iron, smelt it, and make buckets. It's your choice. Just to let you know, food farms aren't the only farms you can make, you can also make an animal farm by growing some wheat, going up to the animal to make it follow you, and trap it inside a fence. But if you don't know how to make all sorts of different farms click here: www.minecraft.wonderhowto.com/how-to/minecraft-worlds-exhaustive-guide-food-farming-0130808/

Step five: Mining

Mining is not the hardest thing to do on Minecraft. Basically you just dig down diagonally. But, I must warn you, NEVER dig straight down, otherwise you might fall into a pit of lava, or fall into a ravine, or into a dungeon. Like I said before, you should dig down DIAGONALLY until you get to the bedrock. Currently, there are only six different types of ores, coal, iron, lapis lazuli, gold and diamond, the rarest ore being diamond. Apparently, Notch is planning to add another ore in the next few updates called: Emerald, much more rarer than diamonds. People say that emeralds make diamonds feel like coal, meaning that emerald is SO hard to find, diamond gets struck by the pickaxe alot like it does with coal. If you are digging and find some cobblestone underground, don't get any ideas of what it might be. (Herobrines house, secret build, treasure room) All it is is a dungeon with a monster spawner and a chest filled with treasure. I advise you to try to break the monster spawner THEN loot the chest, but it's up to you. Be aware that if you find a cave, monsters will be lurking around it. Then there are ravines. What is a ravine? It is like a cliff edge. Usually it has diamonds and gold in some but other times all that can be found is iron and coal. Try not to fall of the edge or ravines, for at the bottom may be some hazards such as, flowing water, flowing lava, and monsters.

How to become a MASSIVE pvper and how to stay alive!

Many players love to pvp other players, wether that player is the same level of pvp as you are, or if the player is a wooden sworded sook. If you are a wooden sworded sook, then why not get out there and show people how good you are at pvp? To start off, here are some questions about pvping.

Q. What is pvp?

A. Pvp, or rather, player vs. player, is a fun but dangerous aspect which is only on Multiplayer since you need another player to fight against.

Q. What different types of pvp are there?

A. Three types: Organized pvp, Faction wars and Unorganized pvp.

IF ANY QUESTIONS NEED ANSWERS TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS!

Organized pvp

Organized pvp is when two or more players agree to battle eachother for whatever reason. Organized pvp is usually fun for all participaters (Except for some sore loosers, but that's their problem). Some servers may host pvp contests and have pvp arenas for battling. Pvp arenas are basically a building in which people battle eachother and whoever wins gets a prize.

Faction wars

Some servers have a plug-ins which enable factions to be put in the server. Factions are basically a group that the leader chooses which go around to other faction bases killing and raiding them. Faction wars are when two factions go head-to-head against eachother in a war that usually causes death, creates sooks, and people whining about their diamonds getting stolen. Faction wars can have millions of players versing another million of players. Let's just put it this way: If blood was in Minecraft, all the blood would be flooding the map. There are many good tactics to faction wars. Things including stuff like: Tnt cannons and surprise attacks, but just to let you know, faction wars are probably the most hardcore pvp in the server. The more players there is, the more fun it is. Here are some things incase your all alone and a faction is about to raid your house.

+Make your house as protected as possible: In the middle of the sea, high in the air, or deep underground! Whatever you choose, just make sure it's safe. But if someone gets inside your base. Not good. Make sure you have an emergency chest including everything you might need to survive. If you're unarmed, don't turn around to try and kill the player in your house, just find a way to get out. Emergency tunnels are ideal, but if you're in the air try a hidden waterfall for you to go down in.

+What happens if a whole faction is surrounding your base? Well, I reccomend going as high as you possibly can by building up, or going deep in your mine (If you have one that is) to try and lose the faction. If they somehow find a way to follow you again, try running and jumping at the same time. It makes you go faster. (Double-press "W", and hold down spacebar)

+What if you see a tnt cannon not far from your base? Well, that probably means a faction member has found your base, and is trying to break in. I suggest gathering everything you can, and moving to a place much more further away. It may look like a nice place there, but would you rather have a nice place, or a blown-up place?

+ Keep in mind, faction wars are not always about combat. They're always about preperation and skill. Like if you killed a guy with a diamond sword with just your hands, or if you saw a new enemy come and you burnt them with lava. It's not always about how you raided a base, its about how you did it. Like for instance, a new enemy has come, with a diamond sword and armour, all enchanted real high. He has a huge base that's so big nobody has come forward to battle. But obviously, you can't just verse him face-to-face, so you'll need a plan. Send a volounter to spy on his base, looking at all the traps, doors, gates, seeing through all the windows, chests, hideaways, entrances, exits, and hidden tunnels for emergency. Tell that spy to write down what the things are and what the co-ordinates are on a piece of paper. Get him to give it to you. other volounter to create a diversion, making the enemy chase that player. Then, you come and blow holes in his base, at all the windows, gates, traps and hidden tunnels so that it is much more easier to raid. Once you have done this, the enemy has no real protection besides his sword and armour, which is great for you, and also causes a bit of laugh because it shows how big a sook the pvper really is. Then, send ANOTHER volounter to create ANOTHER diversion, leading the enemy to a cliff, straight down, about 64 blocks high. Make sure to secretly follow him, and be prepared. Once the enemy is at the cliff, get your volounter to disconnect, leaving the enemy thinking how big a sook that player is. But, when your enemy least expects it, attack him from behind, making the enemy fall off the cliff to his death.

Unorganized pvp

This form of pvp is the most common. As you may already know, unorganized pvp is when a player either attack another at surprise, or two players attack eachother without agreeing to fight. If you have better items than your oponent, FIGHT BACK! But, fighting back isn't just about hacking them to pieces, its about skill. Skill is about power. And power makes you win! Use your keyboard tactics to fight them like jumping and sprinting to the left, right-clicking to dodge their hits. If you look online their is many good tactics to winning a battle. But if you are unarmed with no armour, and you see a diamond player coming your way, don't just stand there, RUN! He is sure to kill you if you stay there, so the only thing to do is leave! You can just disconnect the server for five minutes until the player gets bored and walks away. But on some servers this is known as combat-logging and can be against the rules. Just run as fast as you can! Put blocks in behind you tp distract him! JUST GET OUT OF THERE!

Surviving pvp

Some pvp servers go way out of hand, having diamond pvpers hiding in places people won't look, or sometimes killing anyone on sight. So you must be prepared at all times. If the server you play on has a dynamic online map, or even if Rei's minimap,(It's a mod, Most likely allowed) USE THEM. Rei's minimap is a small map placed in the top-right corner of your screen, allowing you to see what structures are ahead of you, and online maps show everything, including where players are. Use them both to your best advantage. A good tip to surviving is to not trust anyone unless know them in real life. If the server has an online map, use it to track other players. Try to stay away from others. The best thing to do is be really nice to all those griefers and spawn killers to get them on your side. Offer them things for free. Help them. Even become one of them!

... the not touching walls part is not required anymore (if their are mobs near you you can not sleep so they can not go through the walls)
