Below i have comprised a short tutorial on how to do better on Hunger Games servers so that people may live a bit longer before meeting their inevitable fate.
Hopefuly this list has been helpful enough to give you a taste of what it means to be a victor.
- Do not tell anyone what items you have/found such as armour, weapons, tools, potions etc. This will not only ruin the element of surprise you have against your enemies but also may make your oppurtunistic "friend" decide your teamwork is no longer neccesary and he will try and kill for your items. No matter how excited you may be do not blurt out you found and enchanted diamond sword!
- Do bring any attention to yourself. This means do not give any clues to where you're located such as your current biome or any recoginizable landmarks(buildings,mountains, odd looking trees).
- Always keep a lookout for names appearing. Every so minutes yould do sweep around you to see if they are any white texts floating around you. If you do spot a white text read the tip below.
- If you see anyone around you, run the other way. Always, always, always keep as far away from your enemies becuase as soon as they spot you, chances are they will attack you.
- Avoid at all times. Only attack enemies when you are in extreme circumstances (starving, or being actively hunted). It is always best to let and extremly less risky to let other people die on their own (e.g. they starve, killed by other players, killed by traps, or eaten by mobs). Not only does this require no effort at all, but it also does not put your life in any risk whatsoever. This rule should be followed at all times. Even when you know your enemy is fleeing and you know you can win, let them run away from you. This may seem like a stupid rule but the chances are too high to risk the fact that you could be walking right into a trap or they have friends lying around you failed to notice becuase you did not follow tip #3.
- Don't eat raw food unless you are starving. This rule is especially true for raw chicken. You could risk food poisoning and lose more hunger than you gain, and you would be wasting a valuable resource you could have saved for later and gotten way more food points for it.
- Do not take any hasty risks. This includes anything that requires parkour, obvious traps, or attacking mobs. You could very well wate all the time you've played on just a slip of the foot, or a miscalculation on how many mobs were nearby.
- Do not place any torches, unless you absolutely need to. Torches not only show obvious signs of your activity in the region (which violates rule #2), but are gigantic literal beacons to your location at night (which also violates rule #2).
- Keep an eye for blocks that look like their out of place. This includes a single piece of sand in the forest, a few dirt blocks in a pains biome, a lever/button on a mountain side, a hole only two blocks down, etc.
- Stay away from the starter area. As tempting as it may be go to the cornocopia you should never go there. As pointed out in the dissapoint movie "the cornocopia is a blood bath". There will always be at least one jerk patrolling the starter area for suckers, and chances are, if he's managed to stay alive in the center for that long he's probably got much better items than you do.
- If you're in a team stick together. It may be tempting just to run from spawn but don't move until you know all team members are with you. In bigger maps its eay to lose eachother so always stick close close to your teamates.
- There is safety in numbers. Always be in a group when the number of people remaining is high. Not only does being in a group multiply your firepower and strength, but it also acts as a visual deterent to those smart enough not to attack large groups.
