Usernames are commonplace all across the internet. It’s hard to think of a new one everytime you need one! That’s where my article comes in. This is from personal experience of making and seeing usernames across the internet. Use this and you won’t go wrong.
What do you like?
Think of things in your life that you enjoy. Do you like playing guitar? Put that in your name! Do you enjoy football? Put that in your name! Putting things you like in your name is a surefire way of getting people to connect with you over your username. I know someone who uses Sherlock for their name, someone else who uses an anime character. They are all good bases for your usernames! You might find people with similar interests or usernames, and make a new friend!
What are you making the username for?
Is it a Minecraft username? Youtube channel name? What is the purpose of this username? Putting this in your name is a really easy way of getting around the usual ‘That username is taken’ route. Important Note! Don’t use one site/game’s name for another site/game. Eg. Using your Minecraft name for Steam or League of Legends. This will seem weird. If you are using this route, keep the main body of your name the same for everything. If you’re name is MC_GuitarDude, change it to LoL_GuitarDude or YT_GuitarDude, accordingly.
Don’t use other people’s usernames.
“But I LOVE (Insert famous youtuber here!), and his/her username is AWESOME! I want to use it!” I hear you say. I see your point, but it makes you come across as a child whose only reason for playing this game. joining this site is that person. Be original. In 10 years that person will probably be gone, but you may still have friends from that game/site. Don’t ruin it for yourself. It annoys me how many ‘Xx_(Random Thing)_xX’ or ‘(Random Thing)Dew’ I’ve seen. Be yourself. Think of a name using the other points.
Try not to use numbers.
Having a name with numbers is very commonplace. It’s hard to think of an original username that sounds cool! You need to use numbers so it’s easier! It may be more effort, but that effort pays off. Your name will seem much cooler if you put the effort in. Now, there are exceptions to this rule. Some numbers, when put together, add to a name. For example, 101. This is a really commonplace string of numbers and sounds pretty cool at the end of the right name!
Don’t use random letters.
This isn’t hard, guys. If you need to, USE NUMBERS. Do not, under any circumstance, put a random string of letters together. It is SO much worse than using letters! It is very unoriginal and makes you seem lazy. The name ‘Rabbid82’ is better than ‘ RabbidTpLqR’. Common sense now guys.
Try and keep it light hearted!
Your username doesn’t have to be anything serious, it can be a joke! It’s another way people can connect with you, and seriously shows off your creativity! Anything serious turns people off from your username.
Don’t be dirty!
Just don’t. It’s cruse and you’ll probably be banned from a lot of things.
Make it roll off the tongue.
Look at all the big stars everywhere right now, all of their usernames can be said really easily! This ties in with the point on not using random letters in your name. A name that’s easily said is a name easily spread. Now go out and make your username!

Now I'm waiting until the name changes for MC happen so that I can change my name to something good.
Also here's some good names I thought up that're a lot better than my current username. xP

These are pretty.... different, which I'd say is good, and I'd change my name to it, but I've already got a name I'm going to switch to. Much better names could be thought up with a little keyboard smashing and about 30 minutes though.
Also, tip for making a good username:
Don't use any weird characters, just normal letters, and don't use random capitals, because then someone might have the same name as you, but with a different capital letter or a different number. If the name is taken, move on to another name.
