I had to do this project for Pre AP Biology & we had 3/9 choices & one of them was a short story so why not post it :D Also the story takes place in the Minecraft World so yea XD

Short Story: The Impossible Recipe

Setting: Minecraft World

Twix is just minding her own business in her little house. Bored, she grabbed the remote off the coffee table and then turned on the TV. The news reporter said,

“A chemical reaction in an experiment goes wrong! This reactant turns into a deadly virus that is spreading quickly across the world! Even the skilled scientists can’t stop it! There must be a genius in the world that must stop the spreading virus before it’s too late!”

This piece of news makes Twix jump. An unexpected virus? How can even the most experienced scientist cannot stop it? Then Twix realized that this was her chance to shine. She got a group of friends together & created a powerful Clan of adventurers named the “Skxttlez Squad” with amazing hobbies. Maybe if I get the entire Clan together, we can share our knowledge to put an end to this! Twix thought. She decided to go out right now to find all of her friends who all agreed to meet in their secret hideout tomorrow night.

Once they met in their sole meeting area, they started talking. No one could come up with anything great to do until the clever alchemist Lizzie said, “Because this new virus has been unknown to the scientists, the reason why the experiment went wrong was that someone must’ve accidentally added a highly active catalyst into the reactant.” Everyone nodded in amusement. Then Alicia added, “So that means one of us must interrogate one of the scientists to see which product they accidentally added.” Twix nodded. No wonder her friends are fairly smart! “But if they don’t know then one of us has to be brave enough to collect the bacteria & see what’s in it.” Lukas pointed out. He had a point. Their alternative choice could get even one of the Clan’s experienced members infected in the process. “Twix. You came up with the plan to stop it. You should decide on who goes to the lab & who stays.” Said Darsh. Twix agreed then said, “I want Lizzie and Lukas to come with me to the Minecraftian Lab in Redstone City. The rest stay here.”

After a long minecart ride all the way to Redstone City, they asked if they could interrogate the scientists who witnessed the formation of the virus. The scientists agreed to meet in a meeting room to talk about it. Once they were ready, one of the scientists spoke, “I know who must be responsible and I understand that no one in here may forgive me.” Twix looked at the lady confused. “It was me who put the product in the reaction! I discovered it on my travels in the End Dimension and I wanted to test it out myself because I was so curious! I’m so sorry! Kids, I hope you can forgive me.” Twix was surprised. But she spoke out for her. “I understand it was a mistake, ma’am.” The lady nodded & said, “Thank you, young lady.” Then Lukas said, “So since you started all of this, can you take us into the lab and show us the product you used and the pH measurement it has?” Then the lady said, “Of course! Follow me!”

Twix followed the scientist into the lab. She couldn’t believe what she heard! “I do remember her saying she found it in the End.” Lizzie whispered. Twix was puzzled. Why is that important? Then she suddenly had a flashback to when she learned about how these creatures of cubes called the Shulkers guarded this rare substrate called a “Chorutrate” which comes directly from raw digested chorus fruit that when used incorrectly, diseases can spread. However, if they get it correctly can be used to make medicines that can help heal the raw chorutrate disease. The problem was that no one in the history of the world could figure out how to do it correctly. That made perfect sense now! “Was it called chorutrate?” said Twix. Then the lady froze in her tracks. “Um… Yes. Wait how do you know?” Twix explained how she thought about it and that it was very logical. “Well you’re quite the genius yourself! Maybe I don’t need to show you after all. But thanks for coming though! And please, call me Taylor.” Twix, Lizzie, and Lukas thanked Taylor for the help & left the lab. They were all surprised for the information they has just learned. “So apparently she didn’t use it properly.” Said Lukas. “That’s because the rules to using it well are super strict.” Lizzie added. Twix nodded at her generous friend. “We should go back & tell the others and then get a large group to travel to the End to fix this once and for all.

The group then traveled all the way back to their hideout in the mountains to bring back their new information. Of course, Twix was chosen to decide who to go. “Lizzie, Lukas, Alicia, Darsh, and Jordan.” Then the group traveled to the legendary Chorutrate area who’s rules will finally be solved.

It took many hours to decipher the rule. They had to have such of knowledge that they were luckily prepared for. They were then on the last rule. “Rule #499: Neatly align the ghast tear in a circle around the centered slimeball.” Taking a deep breath, they did it very, very carefully one by one and then… the ingredients in the cauldron started to form a whirlpool. What was going to happen? Then, a hopper popped underneath the cauldron & bottles of Chorutrated medicine started filling the chest underneath the hopper. The bottles were then taken out. The potion recipe was finally created. The crew would then distribute it to thousands of cities around the world to cure the sick.

“The world has been saved! The legendary Chorutrate Recipe that no one has been able to create for so long has finally been created! Now people are getting better thanks to the little band of heroes called the Skittles Squad! Mostly to the person who created the idea: Twix Skittles! Thanks to the group, the world has been saved!”

Twix couldn’t believe it. She and her band became the most highly famous heroes in the world thanks to her genius idea.
