World Tree and Forest Realm Mod
This mod would add a ton of new items and a new 'world tree' factor to your minecraft world, as well as a new dimension to visit- while also giving new ways to return from old realms.
First things first, the world tree itself. There are three versions of this tree- the other two of which can not exist unless the overworld version is already fully grown. The overworld version does not spawn naturally, as that would cause massive lag, and only one can exist at any time.
Here are the various features of the world tree once it is created:
1. The World Tree emits light equivalent to glowstone after the first growth stage (during growth stage two).
2. There are 10 growth stages, with the final diameter of the trunk being 21 blocks and the final height being well over 100 blocks.
3. At growth stage three, the world tree now functions like a bed in the way that, when right clicked, will cause your spawn point to be changed to beside the tree. Note that after every growth stage, the spawn point must be reset, otherwise you will respawn back at the original spawn point.
4. At growth stage five, bark is produced- a 1x1 block that when used in a furnace has the same efficiency as coal, and when used in combination with leather, can make armor as effective as iron.
5. At growth stage five, the wood of the tree becomes 'world tree wood' and can be used to make special wood tools that are as strong as iron and are used just like it. Meaning a World Tree Wooden Pickaxe can mine diamonds.
6. At growth stage five, the world tree becomes fire-proof ( but not lava proof ) and any houses built of world tree wood will not burn.
7. Also, at stage five, the world tree produces a global effect that doesn't appear to do anything, but if the world tree core is destroyed, the world tree decays out of existence, all tools made from world tree wood break faster and any armor made from bark breaks after a single hit.
8. At growth stage six, the world tree gains the effect of turning nearby lava into water, making it lava-proof, and any lava within a five block radius of a world tree wood block will vanish, thus making a house made from world tree wood impossible to grief with lava.
9. After the final growth stage the world tree will create a 2x3 portal at its base on the north side that will transport the player to the Forest Realm, where all the trees inside are made of world tree wood with a special tree spawning at a low rate that is made of Elder World Tree Wood, which can be used to craft special Elder Tools and Elder Armor that is just as effective as Diamond Armor.
10. Also, after the final growth stage, the world tree will produce only one 'Fruit of Life'- a 1x1 block that can be broken like a pumpkin yet eaten like an apple. After eating this fruit, you gain the permanent status bonus of 'Elder' and your hunger reduces at half the normal rate and your health gains a minor regeneration effect- meaning that if you have less than three hearts, your health will regenerate to 3 hearts.
Finally, once the world tree is at full growth, a 'nether' version and an 'end' version can be created.
The nether version is called "World Tree Roots" and is naturally fire proof and explosion proof, and can only be grown from the roof of the nether- growing downwards like actual roots. The 'World Tree Roots' are created by combining world tree powder with Netherwart in the crafting table and can then be placed like a sapling but only on the underside of the roof of the nether. Once the World Tree Roots are fully grown, they create a portal back to the overworld that will appear on the south side of the base of the world tree and a single special fruit called the 'Fruit of Death' will appear upon the branches of the world tree. When this fruit is eaten, it gives you a permanent status bonus called 'Stronger Than Death', allowing you to do a single heart's worth more of damage and lets you keep all your items when you die. If the Fruit is combined with an Elder Sword, it creates a 'Death Blade', which is stronger than Diamond and will never break.
The 'End' version of the world tree can only be created after the World Tree and World Tree Roots have been created and fully grown. The end version is called "Ender Tree" and is created by combining a dead bush found in desert biomes with bones, 4 ender pearls and 4 world tree powders in the crafting bench. This produces an Ender Tree sapling and when planted on End Stone in The End, starts you on the path to growing the Ender Tree. Even in sapling version, the Ender Tree creates a barrier that repels the Ender Dragon's fireballs and kills endermen that get too close to it. The Ender Tree however, has special growth conditions. You can only grow it by combining world tree powder with ender pearls in the crafting table to make Ender Tree Powder. It takes 8 ender pearls to make one Ender Tree Powder. The Ender Tree has 10 growth stages and at its final stage, produces a fruit called "Fruit of the End" which can either be eaten, to give a permanent status bonus called Ender Born or combined with an bow to create the Dragon Slayer's Bow. At the Ender Tree's final growth stage, it becomes hollow inside and a new ender portal is produced, allowing the player to return to the overworld at any time. Back in the over world, an end portal is created at both the east and west sides of the world tree that return the player back to the inside of the Ender Tree.
Ender Born grants no fall damage, enhanced jumping which allows for the player to jump 2 blocks high, enhanced sprinting which allows the player to sprint twice as fast and a defence bonus that reduces all damage taken by 1 heart's worth.
Dragon Slayer's Bow is a special bow that can instant kill the Ender Dragon or deal more damage per arrow to normal mobs.

Now finally the process of which to create the overworld's World Tree.
To create it, you will need 4 bonemeal, 1 yellow flower, 1 rose, 1 oak sapling, 1 spruce sapling, and one birch sapling placed into a crafting table, which produces 'World Tree Powder'.
This special powder has several functions:
The next stage in making the world tree, you need a 'Glittering Shard' and 8 more world tree powders. Combine those in a crafting bench and it will produce a Glittering Ore. This glittering ore, when cooked in a furnace, creates a World Tree Core. This core is the heart of the world tree and glows just like glowstone. If it is destroyed, the world tree will decay like leaves until it is gone, and any world tree wood taken from the tree will also decay. World Tree Tools will lose durability at 4 times the rate and can not be repaired with World Tree Powder, and Bark Armor breaks after a single heart of damage is taken.
To begin growing the world tree, all one needs to do is place the world tree core on the ground in a plains biome then 'plant' an oak tree sapling on top of the core. The sapling will instantly grow into a 1 block thick by 4 block tall oak tree. After about two minecraft days (forty minutes), the tree will enter the second growth stage and be 3 blocks thick and 10 blocks tall. Also will produce light equivalent to glowstone. However, if chopped, only oak wood will drop and the tree will need to be repaired with World Tree powder before it will continue growing. It takes 3 minecraft days (1 hour real time) for the third stage to be reached, with time to grow progressing at this rate. The final growth stage takes 10 minecraft days (3 hours and 20 minutes) and instead of growing two blocks thicker, will jump from 17 blocks thick to 21 blocks thick.
Every growth stage takes more and more world tree powder to repair, so it's essential to protect the tree from creepers during all stages, and fire til growth stage 5 is obtained- when the tree becomes fireproof. If your tree doesn't grow after the appropriate amount of time, it means it has been damaged in some way and must be repaired.

The Forest Realm:
This dimension is just as it says. Its a huge forest biome where all the trees are made of world tree wood while some special 'elder trees' grow. The point of this dimension is elder tree wood collection and the huge 'Forest Guardian' boss. This mob only spawns once naturally and is quite massive. When it moves, it destroys any trees in its way. It is made out of wood but is not 'burnable' in that sense. However, if hit by fire arrows or weapons that set mobs on fire, it will take extra damage. It has no special attacks and will not attack you until its health reachs 20 percent, at which point it will start rampaging and trying to trample you/hit you. It is very strong, so its not advised to fight it til after you have full elder armor and have gotten all three special fruits (Fruit of Life, Fruit of Death, and Fruit of the End).
When the Forest Guardian is killed, it drops between 10 to 20 'Elder Tree' saplings, which can be planted in the overworld, and between 5 to 20 diamonds seeds. When these diamond seeds are used on the World Tree, they will grow like cocoa pods and when fully mature, can be broken to give either a 'Forest Guardian' egg (33% chance) or a diamond (67% chance).
If a Forest Guardian egg is obtained, it can be placed back in the Forest Realm and next time you return, the Forest Guardian will have respawned. Note that if you do not receive a forest guardian egg from the diamond seed pods, you will not be able to respawn the forest guardian. Only one Forest Guardian can be spawned at any point in time, so don't waste the precious eggs.

- When 4 combined with a dead bush and 4 ender pearls, creates the Ender Tree sapling.
- When combined with 8 ender pearls, creates Ender Tree Powder, which is used to grow the Ender Tree. (takes 10 Ender Tree Powder to grow the Ender Tree from growth stage 9 to the final growth stage.)
- When combined with a 'water bottle', produces 'Panencea' which is a form of potion that can be drank to restore 3 health, cure poison, grant temporary fire resistance, and temporarily grants immunity to fall damage.
- When combined with 8 glass, it produces a 'Glittering Shard'
- When combined with any World Tree Tool, instantly repairs the tool to full durability.
