Hello~

So I got bored today and was looking through the mods section of PMC, only to discover to my sorrow that while there are a few good mods out there, many are extremely uncreative. For example, in roughly ten minutes, I found 10+ mods that add sapphires and rubies... More than ten different mods that do the exact same thing! That's just... sad.

Now you may be thinking 'But what about those mods that add new dimensions! There are tons of those!' Yes, there are, but thankfully they at least try to add something interesting- if not new- to Minecraft. When it comes to new dimensions, Twilight Forest and Aether take the cake hands down (the cake is a lie), but there are a few of those mods that at least try by adding like a Crystal Dimension (I'm a fan of this one) or a Pumpkin Dimension (I'm confused as to why anyone would want something like that.)

From my understanding, it isn't easy to make a mod, so I can understand basically copying someone else's idea (I do it with skins all the time (recoloring) cause I suck at making them from scratch) to improve your own skills, but to market it as your own idea is just horrendous. It essentially steals credit from the one with the original idea while giving a cheap, buggy knockoff.

With all of that said, I have no idea how to make a mod. I assume it isn't some copy-paste tango with notepad and Microsoft Word, but hey, I could be wrong. If I did know how to make mods, I wouldn't have wasted time writing this, and would be hours into coding the mods I've been wanting since I thought them up (Forest Realm/World Tree mod and the Gold Miner's Mod).
