I'm going to teach you how to install mods/maps.

Mods:

First of all you need to have forge installed. Set it on your desktop and click on it. Then you get a pop-up asking if you want to install forge. Click ok and it should say that it made a new profile. Otherwise when it closed itself without saying that open up your Minecraft. Even if it said that it created a new profile open up your Minecraft and when it’s opened up entirely close it again. Then you go to a website (planetminecraft) where you search a mod you want BUT watch out cause some files have viruses. Download the mod and set it on your desktop. When you have done that you go to %appdata%. you can find that in file explorer or press the Windows key+R and then type it in. When you did that you go to .minecraft. when you don't see a file called mods you make it (it has to be called mods) and go into it. Then you drag the file (make sure it’s a zip file or a java file) into the mods file you just created. Then you can close it and open up your Minecraft and choose the forge profile. Then when you are on the Minecraft main screen there should be all kind of things with forge and stuff like that. There should also be a  button with mods on it. Click on that and the mod you placed into the mods file should  be at the left of the page. When that’s there click on it and press done. Now you can have fun with the mod you installed.

Maps:

This is much easier than installing mods. You start on the website you are going to download the map. When you downloaded it put it on your desktop and open up your %appdata% (explained in the mod installing). Then you go to saves (this should be there cause otherwise you don’t have any worlds) and drag the file into there. But most likely the file will be a zip file (a picture of a file with a zip in the middle) to make it a normal file right-click on it and press send to. Choose normal file and the zip-file is transformed into a normal file. Close .minecraft and run minecraft when you go to single player the map should be on the bottom of all your worlds. Now you can have fun with your map you installed.
