I jump around faction servers quite a bit, seeing which ones I would like to stay on or not. Finally finding an Aussie server (barely any lag thank god) I decide to join and play on it.

So far so good. Made a faction and had a few people join. My little faction finding many things to use to fight with, finding food to survive and running around getting experience was really fun :) Occasionally we were getting killed by other players, but that doesn't deter me from playing on. It's all part of the fun and games! Sure it's not ideally what I like, but I play on nonetheless regardless of losing all my diamond armor, weapons, loot etc.

I was starting to like this server, and hadn't really played on a faction server this long before. However there is always something that does put me off ever playing a server again, and that is poor administration and dick-heads who think they are better than the lot.

A few weeks back I was playing as usual on this particular server with another faction member, just running around to see what we could find. Out of the blue we are attack by a full, diamond armoured, enchanted, potion ridden player. Although we had full diamond armour ourselves, we didn't have many enchantments and no potions. I died, but thankfully my faction member didn't. He was able to escape.

When I died I thought to myself, ok fair enough, I've died and lost all my items and armour, these things happen. Of course I was a little upset but because it's just part of the game and it wasn't the first time it happened, I just decided to leave it and continue on. I did say some little remarks to the player who killed me saying I'll come back to get my stuff back etc etc. but nothing to harmful, just general pvp banter.

However this guy just couldn't give me a break. He started off saying, general pvp banter too, but then started to get personal. Insults like "Fat, old faggot" "Go die in a hole" "your probs still a virgin" "your mum this" "your mum that" etc were coming from this guy (And these are least worse things he said). At first I was like pff whatever he will stop eventually. But he kept going, getting way more rude. It wasn't even insults that were part of the game any more, it was just plain insults and rudeness.

Now as a female player, I get a lot of crap as it is, but all the insults I get usually don't affect me in any way. Sure it is hard for some people to believe there are actually female players, and it is their choice to not believe me when I say that I'm actually a girl. My username kinda indicates that I am, but again anyone can make a name like that. Which is fair enough.

But this guy just wouldn't give me a break. Of course he wouldn't believe I was a girl, which was fine. However the insults were down right disturbing, even for male players to endure. The insults consisted of me lying about my gender also (thus why I brought up the female player status). I would ask him kindly to stop and just get back to playing the game, but he wouldn't stop. Even my faction member was getting quite pissed off on what he was saying to me. I know there are many trolls out there, but I have never encountered one like this before.

An admin was online and was listening to this situation the whole time. I ask the admin to do something about it, even just muting him would have been fine with me and I would continue on with the game. But he did nothing. In fact all he did was warn him several times about swearing. Even when he told the player he would kick and temp ban him for swearing, the player would keep going and the admin still did nothing. So the threats were empty and I was just stuck there listening to insult after insult.

Eventually I just logged off. I didn't intend to stop playing, because I wanted to continue on and mine more diamond for some new armour and weapons. I just had no choice. I was never upset about losing my stuff, hell I wasn't even upset about some insults we exchanged each other. It was more to the fact that an Admin KNEW there was a troublesome player online, had been warned, the troublesome player kept going, nothing was done about it, and the Admin pretty much let this guy off the hook. I believe this troublesome player still plays on the server, and as much as I liked the the server, the admin let me down and goes to show that dick heads like that guy don't get punished for his actions.

Anyway.. that was my long rant on taking insults too far. It's minecraft people. People like to play the game without having people disrespect them personally. I know pvp servers are full of insults, but that's just general banter.. personal insults should not be tolerated by anyone, and owners/admins/mods of servers should take action on players who step over the boundaries of online gaming, and start banning the people who can't stfu >.>
