Well, hello everyone, and welcome to my first blog! This has been something I've wanted to do for a long time, and tonight, as I huddle next to a warm fireplace as a hurricane "rages" (not quite where I live) outside, I've decided to act. Today I'll be interviewing Golden Ichor, a great friend of mine and fellow Minecrafter. I've asked her a series of questions, so let's see what she has to say!

Me: Hey Ichor! How're you?

Ichor: Pretty alright. :) You?

Me: I'm great, thanks! So, are you ready to start?

Ichor: Ask away!

Me: All right! So, to ask one of the more standard questions, how did you find out about/hear of Minecraft, and what were your first impressions?

Ichor: In 6th grade, when I was eleven years old, I heard about it in my Reading class (when that still existed.) I got the lite version in the app store and had no clue what it was. It became a past time. After a while though, I gave up because I thought it was boring. I totally forgot about until summer of... 2012? Yeah. Out of curiosity, I searched up "Minecraft" on YouTube and this whole new world opened up. Filled with video games and commentary, Minecraft really just shaped who I am today.

Me: That's amazing how it affected you like that! I have to agree that Minecraft has certainly helped to shape me as a person. Now, moving along, how long have you been playing Minecraft?

Ichor: I've been playing Minecraft for about 2 years. I may have watched others play it in 2012, but I purchased it in 2013. (when the price was $24).

Me: Ha! Then I've been playing it longer than you! 2012, baby. (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑ That doesn't really matter though, does it? So, putting that aside, what's you favorite thing to do in Minecraft? What's your least favorite thing to do?

Ichor: My favorite thing to do in Minecraft is pretty much build pixel art with a friend of mine and play random mini games on online servers. My least favorite thing is trying to mine when you first start in a new world. I want better quality and long-lasting items now.

Me: Haha, I can relate to the feelings of getting started. The initial charm and fascination with a new world has since diminished, but I do still love a good survival game, you know? Oh, and while on the topic of likes and dislikes, are there any servers you’d recommend to the readers? You mentioned some above, too.

Ichor: Any servers? Hm. When you've got mods installed, Pixelmon servers can be fun to hang out on. Hypixel has a game mode called "Warlords," you may need to install a resource pack but it's pretty entertaining. I play on MC Central with a friend of mine, they've got Champion Builder and Team Skywars so that's fun. Oh, is EDawg878 a creative server with HUGE plots. And lots of lag.

Me: I love EDawg! It's super fun, but I have to agree, the lag is awful. =n= Anyway, I was wondering if you've ever done an RP before. Have you?

Ichor: When I first got Minecraft, I used to go to the EDawg server and join RP's. I'd do it again, it's just, they've lost their replay value to me. They can be either hit or miss in my opinion.

Me: Yeah, I can see how that can happen. Some things lose their charm over time, but others don't. Like for me, making skins has always been a hobby I've enjoyed. While I'm not all that good at it, it's super fun, and I have to say I've improved a lot from the beginning (I know you know this, you saw my old ones once). Do you make skins as well?

Ichor: I do not make Minecraft Skins. But I'd like to know how eventually. They can be pretty creative.

Me: Well, I wish you luck with your adventure! They's certainly something that takes a lot of time. Then again, a lot of stuff on Minecraft takes time, like projects and mods and stuff. Do you make anything like that?

Ichor: I'm an on-the-spot kind of person. When I want to build something or do something, I just do it. Project wise... I've got some pixel art that takes time and effort to build. If I mess up on any detail, I might have to destroy it all and start over.

Me: Awesome! I know some people like specific texture packs to display their works with, do you have any preferences?

Ichor: I'm not stingy with texture packs. I don't really care about them all that much. They can be pretty cool from time to time, but I just use the default. If a certain server says that they have a texture pack, I won't go rushing to download it.

Me: I understand that. :) I  love them. Can't get enough, actually. XD Ooh! What about mods? I love mods. Do you have any favorites?

Ichor: I have not been using any mods recently but I enjoy the Furniture Mod, Pixelmon Mod, and, on occasion, the Crafting Dead Mod(pack?).

Me: I've heard of Pixelmon, but that's about it out of those. A personal favorite of mine is 'Minecraft Comes Alive', but I haven't been able to play that in a long time, since neither of my computers with Minecraft can really support mods right now. Too beefy for them. T^T Sorry, sorry, enough about me. Earlier you said that you liked to look up Minecraft on YouTube when you first started. Have you found any favorites?

Ichor: I used to REALLY be into Minecrafters, but I've kind of given up on (most of) their bland/overused commentary. I liked the Youtuber/Minecrafter before they got famous. Now you've got little twelve year old followers of these Minecrafters thinking they're an almighty God or something. I don't have any favorites... I guess... No. I don't have any favorites.

Me: Yes, I certainly know what you mean. I have seen many examples of this in my experiences. I even used to be one, actually, so long ago when I was twelve. But we don't need to go back to that time in my life. That was a dark time that we don't need to talk about, full of regrets and crazed anime-induced illusions. Yeah... So! Moving right along, I believe we're almost done here. Just two more questions. This is one that I'm really excited to see the answer to. What would you like to see changed in Minecraft?

Ichor: What I would like to see happen is the Story Mode that they gave it on the... Wii U, was it? It'd be interesting to see what they would come up with. I'm surprised they didn't put it on the Computer version first and then add it in an update or something for other consoles to enjoy.

Me: That sounds amazing. I would love for a story mode to be included. And chairs. I really want proper chairs. T^T *Sighs* Anyway, this is my last question for you. Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Ichor: Minecraft, though it may be hated on by others, is a very innovative and creative game. There's a lot to the game, more than it had in, like, 2010. Though, it may not be an amazing FPS with phenomenal graphics, it's a starting point. A base to broaden your horizons. To some it has no replay value, but to others, it may mean the world to them. Minecraft holds a special place in my heart. I probably wouldn't be the person I am today without it. Minecraft is a universe full of annoying kids, mean people, and people who care way too much. It's also got people who are talented and filled to the brim with potential.

Me: Wow, that's... Very meaningful, Ichor. :) I'm glad I got to hear your perspective on all of this. And, of course, thank you so, so much for all your contributions! I couldn't have thought of a better way to start of my blogging experience.
