So basically, I decided to interview my football coach which is also in the military. I thought I could simply bike over to his house across town and go talk to him earlier in the morning. Off topic, I'm going to explain my ride!
So basically, I got on my bike, and right on the other side of my neighborhood is a hill to leave. I live in a gated community so it was a challenge getting out, although I obviously did. I hadn't biked down this way in years and thought I knew my way around. So I get up into the woods and they're insane as we just had a storm. I wore my brand new American Eagle sweater and it got all muddy D: but I got up, and decided to keep going. The hills... Oh the hills. The UP hills. It sucked. My little baby BMX barely did it. I finally made it up the HUGE hill and got out of the woods when I was opened up to a new neighborhood. I had no clue where I was. I got on my phone to see it was dead. I whispered some swear words to myself and just.. kept going. I asked a guy where I was. I was 2 cities away from mine. I asked him how long it'd take to get home. He said it was about 1:45 and it'd take me about 2 hours to get home. I had been biking for 6 hours. It felt long but I thought it was a lot less. I started to panic. My phone was dead, I was two hours away from home and had no clue where I was. I looked at the street lights and knew I recognized them. I ran over to one and left my bike on the curb. I looked at the pole to see my name written on one. I had remembered now that my Aunt and Uncle lived 2-3 minutes away from this. I ran, forgetting my bike, to their house. They looked at me like I was high on Cocaine. I told them the story and asked for a ride to my coach's house and they gave it to me. Finally, we arrived and I knocked on his door....
This is where the real interview begins. I knocked on the door at about 3:00 PM. Dirty, sweaty, and tired. I got a reply from his wife. She invited me in. I walked in and saw him on the couch. He said "What the hell are you doing in my house [My last name]"
I told him the story and why I came and we sat down at the table. His wife was nice enough to craft [See what I did there?] us some hot dogs and we sat down. My questions and answers :
Q1 : What rank of the Military are you?
A1 : This shall not be discussed [Secret Agent?]
Q2 : What's your view on 9-11?
A2 : I think al Qaeda was obviously responsible and I figured we go straight to declared war with Afghanistan and Pakistan after.
Q3 : Why'd you join the military?
A3 : I joined the military to protect America and attempt to create a more safe, healthy environment for Americans.
Q4 : How many touchdowns will we get this Sunday?
A4 : Depends on if you're sandbagging or not dude.
Q5 : Do you have access to the Military Vault and weaponry and all the jazz?
A5 : I do, most of it at least. Some it is off limits to me, but yes, most of it.
I thanked him and went outside to where my bike was parked, saw it gone. And began to walk home. It took me about 8 hours to walk home. But, I thought of this whole thing on the way home. So yes, I got in trouble for arriving home so late. Thanks for looking at my blog :D
