When I make blogs, I usually make them to make a point, to inform, or to teach about something. Other people do this as well... yet, some people "forget" to show their thankfulness! EDIT: I realize that going on PMC isn't all about rewards -_- I explain that in the "More than just a reward" section. Read the whole thing before you criticize me please!

Example

I have an example here, it's one of my blogs. http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/how-to-install-mods-in-minecraft-172/
It has 2,000+ views and counting. Out of those 2,000 people, there has got to be ONE, person that I helped. Apparently, they don't show it. I got 1 comment saying they couldn't install the mod. (The blog is about mods.) I replied with some info, never got back to me. Well, I guess this blog with that link helped it out! It now has 10 diamonds! Thanks guys!

More than a Reward

There are problems than just being a reward. The uploader has no idea, WHATSOEVER if they helped the community. Do you know what that means? If they DO help everyone, and nobody shows they did, the uploader might think, "Hmm, it seems like my posts aren't doing so well... I'll just quit :C."

The Effects

Since the good uploaders quit, you got nothing else to gain, learn, and find out about Minecraft and PMC. Of course, there are tons of other uploaders out there that are great but... you basically just ruined their account. Shut 'em down as I would say. Now of course, you might have a blog that gets lots of view and nobody just likes it. (there's gotta be SOMEONE!)

Positive Feedback > Than A Diamond?

It depends how you look at it. I believe it is WAY better than a diamond... on a moral standpoint. If your looking for exp though, its not as good... (I think!) I'm not sure why you would just come to get exp though, its pretty much just a way to encourage posting. (See why there is exp in the first place here!:http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/why-is-there-exp-on-planet-minecraft/ Although, there are multiple ways to show your thanks on a post. Multiple ways to show ME GUSTA. Multiple ways to tell the community to check an awesome post out. The things on the slideshow on the PMC front page are pretty much the pop reels or popular posts.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So basically, the conclusion is, that if you enjoyed the blog, project, whatever, or it helped even the smallest amount, you can subscribe, favorite, and diamond it. All with one click, you can let someone know that you enjoyed it, and made someone's day.

While I perfer feedback to diamonds, I'm still slightly annoyed when one of my posts gets a good number of views and positive feedback yet it has only a couple diamonds. There's really nothing you can do except continue posting quality content.

By the way, here's a diamond.

Well thought out but your English needs a bit of improvement. Also I just find it slightly wrong that you appear to be asking for diamonds when the community should give them where due, even if you think your blog is awesome and helpful others might not share that view. I would suggest adding a small reminder at the bottom of your posts that says "remember to diamond if you liked it" or something along those lines to get the ratings you think you deserve.

My English needs improvement? Kind of insulting since I'm from America. Also did you read the whole thing? Especially the section that says, "More than a Reward."

Yes I did, and it came across as you whining because you didn't get all the diamonds you thought you should. Also my apologies, I thought you were from another country due to all the grammatical errors I was seeing.

Dude, the world isn't perfect. You're not gonna find every single person on PMC to have the perfect blog. If you think you can do better, make you own popular blogs. Just don't go around PMC to criticize beginners. (As you seem to be one yourself.) Also, I'm not "whining." I'm trying to make a point of the use of diamonds, comments, and the impact the have on the uploader. I also am trying to tell people if they liked the post, they should give the right feedback. Not particularly a "diamond". This could also include nothing at all. You seem to be very picky with grammar and races. Interesting way to show your opinion of things. Mostly negative too.

You are implying that I am new here when I have been here a good 3 years and I'm still level 1 because I don't give a crap about xp. Also seeing as you seem to be doing these blogs professionally I have the right to expect more from you and criticize you should you fail to meet standards because such criticism gives the feedback that you want so dearly. In fact if you cant take a hit why are you asking for honest opinions in the first place? I find your claim that this is not about ratings bull crap, you're just impatient to become popular thus you pressure the community to give credit where it is not due. I never claimed that I could write a masterpiece but it disgusts me when people such as you claim you can and try and force that opinion on others as you are doing now.

75000 views yet only 95 diamonds on my best work. That's a rate of 789.47 views for each diamond, which is relatively awful. But then again only 1/3 of the people who view actually download it
