intro

so, i totally didn't forget to write one of these last week. but if i did forget i would be super sorry about that. but i didn't forget so it's fine. anyways it's time to talk about forestry!

what is forestry?

forestry is a farming mod that adds new trees, machines, and more. including bees since this mod was made before they were actually added to vanilla minecraft. this mod is similar to a lot of other mods that add to the nature and environment of minecraft.

likes

bees

while bees have obviously be added to vanilla minecraft now, i do still like the different version of them in this mod. while it is more complicated, the bees can also perform more tasks than in vanilla. for example bees can help breed trees which is one of the main aspects of this mod, which means setting up some bees will be a great help in the future. also the bees are cute.

backpacks

yes, there is a billion mods which add backpacks but that doesn't mean i still love any mod that has them. the backpacks in forestry are a tad different then most modded backpacks as they only store one genre of items. for example the miners backpack will only store stone, ores, and other underground treasures. i personally like this forced sorting system since i am terrible at organizing my items and chests so anything that does it for me is good in my book.

dislikes

most things are late game

most things in forestry are intended for late game players which isn't necessarily a flaw but it does mean a lot of the time when you play with it you won't end up actually getting into the depth of this mod. you'll probably get some bees and make some backpacks but it's unlikely you will end up breeding trees or catching butterflies until you are pretty deep into your playthrough. although maybe this is a pro for some people, if you find that you end up with nothing to do near the end of your modded playthroughs. it all depends on the person and how you play the game.

final thoughts

forestry is a great mod that adds lots of new nature components as well as machinery and some quality of life additions as well. it's a great mod to check out and it has plenty of other mods built to work with it, such as magic bees which adds even more to the bee mechanic.
