intro

hi, i'm back! sorry for not posting last week... either way these post will probably go on hiatus for march since i'll busy with real life stuff then! i haven't been up to much recently mostly just been plagued with insanity although i do have to write a lot today between this and hopefully speedrunning a fic for vincent edgeworth's birthday... anyways lets get into the mod!

what is grimoire of gaia?

grimoire of gaia is a mod that adds a wide variety of mobs mostly based on girl forms of lots of fantasy creatures as well as some actual minecraft mobs. the mod is mostly intended for late game players since the mobs are quite tough. it also has lots of different versions with it currently being on it's fourth version.

the mob models

there are a decent variety of mods that add some version of "waifu-ified" mobs with lots of them just being texture packs that change how the default mobs appear although i feel grimoire of gaia differentiates itself from these by adding lots of other mobs besides vanilla ones. one of the big ways it also differs is how the models are actually very nice! the models are detailed without them standing out too much especially if you are playing in a mod pack. of course, the designs themselves depend on the person whether you like them, they are the standard girl version of mobs.

it's for late game

like most of my reviews on here this isn't necessarily a flaw just something that could be a reason someone doesn't want to play it. grimoire of gaia is very much a late game mod and isn't meant to be messed with when you're just starting out and it's intended for players who want a challenge. there has been different times when i was playing a mod pack just to run in a valkyrie from this mod and she has beaten my ass, you do not want one of those flying on you when you're unprepared.

final thoughts

grimoire of gaia is a fun mod that adds more tough mobs to your game with inspiration from a variety of myths and folklore as well as vanilla minecraft. whether you like the designs or not can depend on the person but i see no flaws in them personally. i think it's a fun mod to check out if you want, it works well with fantasy mod packs or for anyone who wants more of a challenge.
