intro

hi everyone! i'm writing this with a kleenex stuck up my nose since apparently i caught pearl's cold, or it's just allergies in the middle of winter i guess? i keep sneezing so much, i even kneed myself in the nose the other day while i was talking to my boyfriend, over the phone obviously, due to a full body sneeze which was embarrassing. but i can still write my mod post thankfully! so let's get into that

what is turtlemancy?

turtlemancy is a magic system mod that allows for you to well preform magic via turtles, i feel like it's kinda in the name. nonetheless it adds new types of turtles, plenty of wands, and different paths you can take as well as more of a use for turtles which can often feel relatively useless sometimes.

likes

it's easy to start

the only bar for entry with this mod is well, finding turtles. i was lucky enough in my playthrough with this mod to spawn right next to the ocean with plenty of turtles around and i was able to get started very quickly since this mod comes with an in game guide that is very useful. i was even able to start myself up with an easy food source due to this mod [​not the turtles, you monster] which was great since i am terrible at fishing and diving around to punch fish is just tedious.

dislikes

it's overpowered

usually i don't list overpowered as a dislike since i personally find it fun but wow this mod is really overpowered and you should really watch out for balancing if you are playing this in a mod pack. it can be fun to run around completely overpowered via the power of turtles but since it's also pretty easy to get started with this mod it can make it feel like there's no point in pursuing other mods in a mod pack so watch out for that!

final thoughts

turtlemancy is a great mod especially if you love turtles or if you enjoy magic based mods. i think it's definitely worth checking out even if it doesn't take a permanent place in a mod pack you play.
