intro

unfortunately this post will come out a little later then i plan for them to come out in the future, this is due to the fact that i wasn't able to write it in advance. for future reference these posts will come out every monday at 3pm est unless i have unforeseeable plans during that time and am not able to post. eventually i will be allowed to actually schedule posts. nonetheless lets actually get into the mod, it's a lot smaller then last weeks.

what is pam's harvestcraft?

pam's harvestcraft is once again a mod that has been around for a while and is mainly a crop and food mod. it adds plenty of new crops for expansive gardens and farms. this mod is perfect for anyone wanting to use minecraft to live out their "cottagecore" dream. it also works great for any sort of vanilla+ mod experience, especially since this pack re balances vanilla food so you're encouraged to do more then just eat steak all the time.

likes

the variety

just the pure variety in this mod is fantastic. i have always enjoyed any sort of farming aspect in games and they did a perfect job of expanding minecraft's slightly limited amount of crops and craftable foods. the addition of cotton is also fantastic as it allows for easier way to access string early game. cotton has been my savior many of times when i couldn't find any sheep for the life of me but i, understandably, still wanted a bed. of course the actually edible crops are wonderful as well. i thoroughly enjoy having a colourful garden and crafting food makes filling up your hunger bar a more fulfilling experience.

the ease to get started

i've played a lot of mods [if you couldn't tell] and as such i know how many mods are a pain in the ass to get started. so many mods require you to craft a guide book just to figure out what you're doing and while that's better then referencing a wiki every minute of the day it still can take you out of experience sometimes. so i adore that it's easy to start this mod. just break some of the bushes you find out in the wild and you'll already have some crops to go home and plant. of course what plants you have access to depends on what biome you spawn in but whatever you find at the start is still a great resource for starting your farmer journey.

dislikes

difficulty in finding specific crops

i only have one dislike for this mod and realistically it's minor but i thought i'd still mention it. it can be difficult at times to find a specific crop you're looking for, which is something you'll probably end up doing if you're trying to create a certain food item. perhaps i've just always had a bad sense of direction but finding specific biomes has always been difficult for me. it's even harder if you're also playing with any sort of biome expansion mod, like biomes o plenty, which just adds even more biomes to show up instead of the one you're looking for. of course this is really only an issue if you're like me and get very focused on making one specific thing. this mod really has no flaws if you're a casual player.

final thoughts

pam's harvestcraft is a great mod with very little flaws and i will recommend it to no end especially for people looking for a simpler modded experience. there is also pam's harvestcraft 2, this review is mostly a combination of both versions, but the 2nd version works with newer versions of minecraft and adds even more crops and food items.

you may of noticed this review is significantly shorter then last weeks, that is simply because there is less to talk about for this mod. the length of my reviews will fluctuate with the length of the mods themselves. as always feel free to leave mod suggestions in the comments or any of your own thoughts on this mod. also please like and follow if you enjoy these reviews, the interaction will help me to eventually be able to schedule these posts! thank you all, especially for getting my first review on the popular reel last week! see you guys next week :]
