I did not write the first paragraph of this story, jellyfishh did. [Here is the og]. This is just my continuation of it for her Writing Contest [Here]. I also did not create the picture.
~
The full moon shined through the dark purple clouds. Its rays reached the forest to make the dewdrops glitter. All of the forest is quiet and still...until there was a small light floating above a lily, like a tiny star that came down from the heavens. It then dreamily fluttered through a clump of forget-me-nots and flew slowly to a small door at the base of a tree. It carefully opened the door and tiptoed inside...

The fae, or as known to humans as a fairy, quietly closed the door and tiptoed to a room down the hall of their house, taking special care not to make any noises once he got close to the second door. Arailt, for that was the fae's name, entered the room at the end of the hall and quietly closed the door behind him. Technically he shouldn't have been out this late at night, but Arailt felt that seeing the Auroan Lights made it okay. At least, it made it okay for Arailt.
"What do you think you just pulled off?" a childish voice said sternly. Arailt quickly turned around. Standing next to the door with her arms crossed and a big frown on her face was Aoife, his younger sister. Arailt had been found out, and now he would be in bigger trouble. He fluttered his yellow wings nervously.
"I'm telling mommy you went out again," Aoife said, preparing to run off.
"Wait!" Arailt said, diving to grab her before she ran off. He couldn't let his favorite part of the night be taken away. "Isn't there something you want?!" Aoife turned to him and grinned.
"Take me with you next time Arailt," she said.
  "No way!"
  "Then I'm telling mo-"
"Fine Aoife," Arailt gave up. "I'll take you next time," Aoife smirked at him and skipped away to her room.

Arailt brushed his blonde hair and wrapped his yellow knit scarf around his neck. Tonight the air was very cold, and he would need the extra warmth. Aoife bounced into his room.
"Can we go yet?" she asked.
"You gotta be quiet," Arailt whispered, "Otherwise we'll be caught," Aoife's pink wings fluttered excitedly.
"Yes yes, be quiet, I know, can we go now?" she whined. Arailt patted his pockets and nodded.
"Let's go," he said. Arailt silently stalked down the hallway, while Aoife fluttered down after him. Both Fae tiptoed outside into the front garden, rustling the forget-me-nots as they flew away.
"Where are we going?" Aoife asked Arailt.
"To see the Auroan Lights," Arailt replied. "It's not far from here,"

From far away, the little Fae looked like two small stars blinking and fluttering about the night sky, two little lights dancing with each other on the dark backdrop. Arailt and Aoife flew up and away to the top of the highest tree in the forest. Arailt landed on a branch and folded his wings.
"Now what?" asked Aoife. She tapped her foot impatiently.
"Now we wait," Arailt shivered. I should have brought more layers, he thought to himself. He settled himself down on the branch and closed his eyes.
"How long do we have to wait?"
"Depends on how noisy you are," Arailt lied. Aoife frowned and sat down beside him. Soon she fell asleep.

Arailt stared into the night sky. The stars were the same as they had always been, but still they brought him joy. The cool breeze ruffed his wings, and with the breeze brought the Lights. He gazed upon the bright waves of color splashing the sky. The ones that drew his eye's attention the most was the large yellow one, and while Arailt stared at it he saw beneath it was a more sublte pink, and as the Lights went on the pink became brighter and brighter until they were both the same size and brightness.
He jostled Aoife. "Aoife, wake up!"
"Huh? What is it?" she asked wearily.
  "The Lights,"

I don't know what happened when I wrote those last paragraphs, but it doesn't matter because I finished! :P The names Arailt and Aoife I got from a Scottish/Celtic name generator, so no I don't know how to say them or if they mean anything.
