Me and my friend decided to make a couple of houses on the outskirts of a server.
We made a few houses including a couple of houses, a hall and a potion factory. Soon after someone else stumbled across our settlement and started to stay a while. I decided that it was time to expand the hamlet, so i made a long
bridge crossing a lake to another biome. It was ambitious of me to think all of this would be filled. I made the first building along the stretch , it was a pub with a few rooms to let. My friend made a house that was for sale and the other person built a dirt house (I know what you're thinking. He's really a very good builder). Anyway, time passed and we made a few new buildings, in made a small school, my friend made a hospital and the stranger started on an epic build. Some more people heard about the village and started to join, in particular was a banner on the server. My friend made some plots where people could make there own houses, and they proved to be popular, inviting more people to stay. Meanwhile I made the town centre, with some of the biggest houses in the town surrounding it.
I made branches of the main path providing extra places for buildings. One of the main features of the town was built around then, the market district. This was a place for members of the server to sell items, from general blocks to potions. This encouraged many players to join the town and it was beginning to look like a community.
Time passed and the first player to join had finished their build. It was a huge pirate ship with all the features you would of expected form a real pirate ship. I began to concentrate on greenery in the town (Since the town is just buildings and pathways floating on an ocean it isn't hard to believe that there was a lack of plants.) I made a small garden and a play park featuring a slide and something else which i can't remember the name of :I. With all of the new players coming in it wasn't hard to believe that there were some unwanted players (I think you already know what I mean, but just in case you really are quite stupid. The griefers.) Since the mods on this particular server aren't the most dedicated to speak of, we were left with a growing town with no protection what so ever. Just to be sure it wasn't a problem I made a police station, it consisted of a interrogation room (which i am personally proud of btw) a briefing room (and soon after) a prison. I paid for a few people in the town to become police officers. They helped protect the town against these griefers, But they still slipped through the net. I fired up minecraft and i noticed something was strange, the first person the join (who was now a top contributor to the town) told me that some of the town had been griefed. The banner who I mentioned earlier swore to protect this town, narrowed down the suspect list, and found out that one particular player had been griefing earlier that day. The banner well, he banned the griefer. And all returned to normal. I expanded the town adding a few new houses which were up for sale and a couple of larger houses. Also I made some statues of me and my friend. Next me and the first person to join made an under water park. It was like any other park, but, well. underwater :l.Anyway even more time past and i made a large house for me in the other biome on the other side of the stretch of path. Things were getting quite chaotic as more and more people joined, my house offered a sort of escape from all of it. However a couple of people delayed my plans of expanding the town. That's right, wave two. I am of course (again) talking about griefers, But this time they came in force. They Tore down a large chunk of the town concentrating on houses and the statues. Unluckily for them they had hit another banners house. This was a very bad decision for them as they were quickly banned. (That lead to another story I might post later.) Anyway more and more buildings were made (After we rebuilt the town) such as the shrine to notch, the disco and the airport. This is as far as the story has led so far. Hopefully the mods on the server will be able to pull themselves on-line sooner than later.
