Hey PMC!
Today I will be teaching you ways to improve your mob system. This tutorial is intended for newer players so don't brag if you already know all this stuff, we all know you are awesome. So let's get started:

Here are the 4 main keys that determine the efficiency of a mob system:
-The total area outside of your trap that hostile mobs can spawn at.
-The total area inside of your trap that hostile mobs can spawn at.
-The lenght of time that it takes to kill the mobs.
-The number of mobs lost inside your trap from de-spawning or getting stuck.

Here are some tips to make your mob trap better:

-Light up all the caves and ground around you so that your mob system works better. The more land there is for mobs to spawn in, the less the mobs will spawn in your system. It is a good idea to build your mob system under an ocean since there is not a lot of room for mobs to spawn on and less caves.

-If you have to build it on land, build it around 26 blocks under you so that the mobs can spawn.

-Use half slabs on your spawning pads so that spiders do no spawn.

-Keep your ceiling on your spawning pads 2 blocks high if you do not want endermen.

Keep this as a reference:

1 block high cieling: Only spiders can spawn

2 block high cieling: Only Skeletons, creepers and spiders can spawn.
3 block high cieling: All mobs can spawn inside. (Skeletons, Creepers, Spiders and Endermen.

If you like this and would like to see more of this (with pictures too!), please make sure to leave me a diamond. It would greatly help and is very encouraging.
