Woooooo!!!! Minecraft 1.3 comes out on August 1 (in a few hours maybe). I am going to tell you guys what will change. I am getting info off of Mojang.com, so check there. They post stuff about minecraft snapshots, the updates, and stuff like that. It also helps if you follow Jeb on twitter. Okay now to the news:
- The game now runs an internal server in single-player mode
- The single-player server can be shared on LAN, with LAN server detection
- Made it possible to use client-side commands by enabling cheats (this is defaulted as disabled for old worlds)
- Added an optional o bonus chesto to get started quicker (can be disabled)
- Ito s now possible to trade with villagers. Added emeralds as a currency
- You gain enchantment orbs from other tasks than just destroying monsters. Max enchantment level has been decreased to 30
- Jungle and Desert Temples have been added
- Servers can automatically suggest and distribute texture packs
- Added new world map elements (does not need a new map, but theyo ll only appear in new areas)
- Added cocoa beans (grows on jungle trees)
- Added an Ender chest (inter-dimensional chest)
- Added a tripwire
- Wooden logs can be placed sideways
- You can now type some multiplayer commands in the single player world
- Added "Adventure Mode" in which you can not build, set items on fire, and use buckets. Only accessible by commands.
- The Creative Mode has a new look along with a few added items
- Books have a new crafting recipe. You can also write in one if it is a "Book ad Quill"
- Multiplayer has been improved
- A bunch of bugs and minor stuff have been changed
- Water and Lava no longer effects flying
- Added "Large Biomes" world type
- All types of wood now has their own slabs and stairs. Sandstone stairs have also been added
- You can now burn wooden tools in a furnace
- You can get your bucket back when you put a lava bucket into a furnace
- Ice no longer creates water in the Nether
- Minecarts and boats can be placed on rails/water if in a dispencer. Water and lava can also be placed, and buckets can pick it back up
- Signs and empty buckets can now stack to 16
- Another golden apple crafting recipe
- Creeper explosions are 50% less in Easy, Same on Normal, and 33.3% more on Hard. The explosions can also boost you up in the air.
- You can move in Minecarts with the directional keys, boats are easier to control, and lilly pads are broken when hit with a boat.
