Hi there, I'm Zian U, and this is the third week of my experimental survival in the game Minecraft. Last week I played Minecraft Alpha 1.0.1_01, and now I've been playing Alpha 1.0.2_02, which doesn't seem to have changed much, but I think some things have changed a lot.

I think it's time to remind you what the point of my experiment is. I created the world in the alpha 1.0.0 version of the game, and every real week I move to a new version. Many people consider the period of alpha versions as something unified, on purpose or not, I do not know it, but the period of alpha versions of the game they have blurred, and represents something unified, although if you consider everything better, it becomes clear that even between alpha 1.0.0 and alpha 1.1.0 is already quite a good difference, and they can feel differently.

So what, in fact, has changed in the new update for Minecraft?

Changes in Alpha 1.0.2_02

Changes

  • Redstone Dust can no longer be destroyed by walking on it.
  • Redstone Dust no longer connects through solid blocks diagonally down.
  • Redstone Dust is now emitting red dust particles.
  • Redstone Ore is now emitting red dust particles.
  • Redstone Torch now powers blocks above and next to him.
  • Redstone Torch now emit red dust particles when lit, instead of flame particles.
  • Flowing water will have it's "level" data value directly set to 0 only if there is an opaque block or another water block down.
  • The game output log now prints a "Loading texture" (+ <web link>) string when the player's skin is loading.

Okay, the changes are minuscule, so it's about time we moved on to survival itself, isn't it?

Day 1 (game days 34 to 35)

This day I decided to replace the lever at the entrance to the warehouse with stone pressure plates, because I had roasted the necessary 6 cobblestones to get stones.

I also moved the door to the warehouse a bit, so that I wouldn't have to press the slab immediately when going down the stairs.

On the same day I continued digging my cave grid, looking for diamonds, but since the grid was already very large, I decided to make the main exit road into the form of earth. This way it would be easier to navigate, and I would be able to put the extra earth somewhere else.

And after that, I naturally continued digging the mine, thinking that I would be lucky to find diamonds. But there was nothing but coal, iron and gold.

I came to the surface at night, and after examining my second house, I had the idea of enlarging it, and so in the morning I set about getting wood for the columns and planks at the base of the house. After digging up a little of the earth, I had the outline of the room I was going to make.

And by late afternoon, I had almost finished the room and had rough plans for how the ceiling should be done.

Well then I decided to dig into the cave again, and I got so bored with it that I stopped playing pretty quickly.

Day 2 (game days 35 to 40)

The second game day continued with digging the mine. Then I chopped some firewood. Pretty much the same as always. Then I added a double chest to the attic of the first house to put food in, since the first double chest was already full of food.

Already at night I remembered that it is necessary to complete the room, so I started to do it, and in the afternoon the new room of the house was completed.

And then, all of a sudden, I was feeling adventurous. I decided to try to go far to load new chunks, and if not to find diamonds, so at least to get redstone, and that's why I think that in this version they changed the generation.

On the new chunks, the generation of mountains, lakes and other things looks different from the Infdev generation I'm currently living on. There are already less random sand and gravel chunks, and already far fewer pits with walls two blocks high.

On my journey, I got a little sluggish in the water, and by nightfall I had already come to a mountain. Here I decided to settle down temporarily, and start digging a new mine, hoping for luck.

I dug long and deep. I had a workbench with me, so I could make picks on the fly. And at some point, I got really lucky.

Redstone. I found it. It was something most unusual. It was different from what I remembered in that it took longer to break with an iron pickaxe. Anyway, I dug up the redstone, and continued digging up my net, when all of a sudden.

Diamonds! It's a success. I found as many as 5 diamonds. You could say that I almost even passed Minecraft, although of course a full diamond set of tools and armor would be considered a complete pass. But even so, it's a success. I now have a diamond pickaxe. I'll keep the other two diamonds for now, just in case.

A little later I got to the surface, and since it was still, or already night, I decided to establish an outpost in this mountain, where there would be important mines or something. Speaking of which, I'm thinking about building a mega-village in the future, what do you think I should build? I'd like to see your ideas in the comments.

This morning I already have an outpost like this.

Not very notable or pretty, but no matter, I'll improve it all in the future. During the construction, by the way, I was almost killed by a creeper, great?

Anyway, I got home, sorted out all my stuff, and another idea came to my mind to expand the room that I had built a while ago. It didn't take long, and I had already mapped out the area of the future expanded room.

Already at night I started actively working on the expansion. but apparently I forgot, so I put the room dividers wrong at first.

But I was too lazy to continue anything further, so I left it all for the next day.

Day 3 (game days 40 to 43)

On the third day, I moved the room dividers, and went to mine for new materials in the outpost mine. A little coal, iron, and redstone, just the usual stuff, really.

Then all night, until dawn, I walked to the house. Then I packed all the iron into blocks, made myself additional sets of wool armor (I remind you that cows and leather are not in the game yet, so leather armor is made of wool), well, and started to complete the room.

I looked around at what my world looks like, including what the cabin looks like, and decided to call it a day.

Conclusion

Yes, I haven't played much this week, and I confess to my laziness, but I really couldn't think of anything else to do, so please forgive me. That's all for now, subscribe, follow my blog, and I'll see you next Thursday for Alpha 1.0.3. Good luck, my darlings. Bye!
