A lot of people just joined Minecraft these last few weeks/months and of course they do not know how to play well this Indie Game. First of all, what is Minecraft? Minecraft is a sandbox game based on surving and creating/building stuff. Ok, now that you know the two main themes of Minecraft let's get started.
There are three different game modes:
- Survival (where of course you have a bar of life and you have to survive)
- Creative (where you can fly and you have the possibility to get any Minecraft block)
- Hardcore (kind of Survival with an only life. If you die you have to create a new world)
In this Blog series I'm going to treat Tips for survival and, of course this works even for hardcore.
----------------------------------------------------STARTING TIPS HERE------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you spawn for the first time you can see that you have got nothing in your inventory. To see you inventory press 'E'. Well, the first you want to do is get some wood, so go near a tree and press the Left Mouse Button to destroy a block. For a great start you need 16 or more Oak Logs. Well once you got the Logs, open your inventory and in the top right part of the screen you have a 2x2 Crafting. To make some Oak Planks you have to put your Logs in one of the 4 spaces in the 2x2 crafting. Like shown in this picture.
1 Log –> 4 Planks, so 16 Logs –> 64 Planks. This way you will immediately have a 'Stack' of planks (stack means a slot with 64 items). Once you got the stack of Planks you must open your inventory and craft a Workbench/Crafting Table.
Now that you got the Workbench, you have to craft your basic tools. First of all, craft some sticks as shown in the picture below. You can craft sticks in both the Craftings, in 2x2 (inventory) and in 3x3 (worbench)
The 2 most important tools you have to craft are: the pickaxe, and the sword.
As you can see in the pictures you can replace the Planks with Cobblestone, Iron and Gold ingots and Diamonds.
Here's the list of the items based on their strength.
Wood - Gold - Cobblestone - Iron - Diamond.
Now before the night starts you have to build a small house/refuge or just a cave to survive the night. As a beginning I consider more digging a cave instead of building a house because, while digging the terrain/mountain to make the cave, you can fortunately find some Coal so as to craft some Torches.
Well, I think that know you're ready to survive the first night in Minecraft. If you want a second part to know more things about this game, I need 6 Diamonds.
