What is Mining?
Mining is the most important thing in Minecraft, the reason people don't think it is isbecause there are so many new things, but without mining, Minecraft would not be possible!
Mining Tips!
1. Don't dig straight down!
Why: Lava is produced underground at random areas, Lava will burn you to death if you fall in it, if your digging straight down the chances of you falling in lava increase. Besides, staircases are much better do to the fact you can climb back up from the mine.
2. Be prepared
Why: Mobs spawn underground as well, if you run into one, you will want to be armed with a Sword, and maybe some Armour on you. In Mineshafts/Dungeons there are big groups of Mobs, you need to be prepared to take these large groups on!
3. Locations of Ores
Coal Ore: Most commonly found 5-52 Y
Iron Ore: Most commonly found 5-54 Y
Lapis Lazuli: Most commonly found 14-16 Y
Gold: Most commonly found 5-29 Y
Diamond: Most commonly found 5-12 Y
Redstone: Most commonly found 5-12 Y
Emerald: Most commonly found 5-29 Y
Nether Quartz: Most commonly found 15-120 Y (ONLY IN THE NETHER)
4. Pickaxes Durability
Wood Pickaxe: 60 Blocks
Stone Pickaxe: 132 Blocks
Iron Pickaxe: 251 Blocks
Gold Pickaxe: 33 Blocks
Diamond Pickaxe: 1562 Blocks
5. What can break what?
Wood Pickaxe can break: Stone, Coal, Nether Quartz
Stone Pickaxe can break: Stone, Coal, Nether Quartz, Iron Ore, Lapis Lazuli
Iron Pickaxe can break: Anything but Obsidian
Diamond Pickaxe can break: Anything
Gold Pickaxe can break: Stone, Coal, Nether Quartz
