For me, Minecraft would be more fun to play with the addition of these MMORPG-oriented features:
NEW WEAPONS (will have level requirements)
Buyable, dropable (dungeons, random mobs).
-Axe: Life Steal.
-Mace: Armor Debuff Reduction.
-Daggers (Dual-Wield Available): Poison Dot.
-Double-Handed Sword: Bleeding Dot.
-Crossbows: Shoots arrows on straight line.
-Staffs: Different Spells (uses 4 elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind. Only for apparence aspects).
-Shields: Block more damage.
NEW ARMORS (will have level requirements)
There could be 5 Tiers (LvL1-50) of armors. Tiers 1 (1-10) Craftable armors, the ones that you make from normal ores you find. Tiers 2 (10-20) Tiers 3 (20-30), etc. would be Armor Tiers that you get from different dungeons. Only Armor Tiers 2 to 5 will give stats.
STATS (Equipements/Weapons give stats also)
You get +1 stat point each level that you can place yourself.
-Strength (STR): Increases Attack Power with Melee Weapons.
-Agility (AGI): Increases Attack Power with Ranged Weapons and damage of Critical Strikes.
-Intellect (INT): Increases Spell Power and Mana Pool.
-Vitality (VIT): Increases Maxmimum Health.
DUNGEONS
There could be some dungeons (LvL 1-10), (Lvl 10-15), etc. with many different boss that have special abilities that makes them fun to fight ! Also there could be new mobs all around the way in the dungeon to keep the adventure active ! To enter the dungeon you would need to craft or find/drop a special key to open it. Next, we could be able to make groups to team up against the monster!
GOLD AND XP
There could be a trading currency to buy any kind of items to NPCs merchants, such as health potions, mana potions, armors, weapons, etc. You can get gold by completing quests, killing mobs, selling your stuff to a merchant, completing a dungeon, etc. There could be a new system of leveling by including XP earned by killing mobs, completing quests and dungeons, etc. XP will no longer be used to enchant items, instead you'll have to meet a NPC Enchanter ( You would be able to choose your enchant ). LvL cap is 50.
AUTO-GENERATED TOWNS AND QUESTS
There could be auto-generated towns that includes NPCs in it. Some of them could give quests, such as defeat the boss of one of the dungeon, or bring me 10 pieces of leather, etc. After completing a quest, you would receive XP, GOLD and special equipements to continue your adventure!
ATMOSPHERE AND MUSIC
There could be a new atmosphere when you enter another zone and also it would play a different ambiance track. Also, new zones (biomes) could be added.

In my opinion this would add a lot more adventure/action to minecraft, because it's getting the same thing over and over!
