I've played Minecraft for about a year now, and I think I have at least some understanding of what the game means to me personally. Now of course, I can't judge the game for anyone reading this, but this is just what I think of the game.

Beauty lies within the eye of the beholder, this is what Minecraft means. If you want Minecraft to be your favorite game, it will be. If you want it to be the worst game that  you've ever played it will be. If it's a gateway for you to start a career, then Minecraft will be just that in the end.
To me, the game is a creative outlet, rather than a suspenseful survival. When I first started the game, I played with one other person, my boyfriend. He didn't get me into Minecraft, but he was the only one that I knew played it. We played on survival, and it was a really great time. Most of the time I had to go to the wiki to learn everything, but it was nice to play a game and feel like I'm by his side kicking ass (since we're in a long distance relationship that sort of thing is hard to achieve).
His internet than became spotty and his computer couldn't play the game at all. So, I was sorta forced into SinglePlayer then. Even though my older brother would play with me at times, the feeling wasn't the same.
That's when I discovered Minecraft's creative mode, and I started building something so that when my boyfriend could play, him and I would have fun with it. It was just a 5 level maze tower, and the thing never got completed because I discovered this Mario mod and wanted to build that.
Needless to say, that world was accidently deleted.
And now... I'm building Pokearth... a whole effin' world x.x I've alwaysed loved the Pokemon games (3rd gen was my first), and so did my boyfriend. Course... now I'm just determined to get it done for everyone out there who wants to be in Kanto X3

So, back to thesis... what Minecraft means to me. Overall, I love the game, some things about SMP piss me off (like beds >.>) but those can be fixed with mods. I've met some nice friends to because of it (albiet younger than me but still).

Now I'm thinking if i should post Pokearth updates here o.o Not against the rules or anything.... unless no ones interested X3
