WARNING: The following may be disturbing. Viewer dissection is advised.
It all started "a long-a** f**king time ago in a town called Kickapoo."-Tenacious D, Kickapoo. It would have been a regular Friday. Except for that thing that happened. In the math class, to be exact. As we were leaving, I noticed a sheet of notebook paper flutter to the ground. When I went to go retrieve it, it was as if it had never been there. Being the person I am, something like that shouldn't have fazed me. So why did that little event unnerve me so much? It was just a page of angles and numbers.... right? Before I had time to decide what had happened, it happened again. I heard a crunch like paper being crushed under my foot, but when I looked down...not a thing. At this point, I was shivering and constantly looking behind me. I kept trying to tell myself to pull it together, but subconsciously, I knew something really was out of place.

That night, I had a dream. Some guy in a suit who had to have been twice my height interrupted my otherwise normal dream. His only words were, "Be careful. Your knowledge can never be truly infinite." Before I had time to ask if he was on acid, he dissolved into dust and blew away in the wind. I woke with a start in cold sweat. "What is wrong with me?" I asked myself.

I saw a psychiatrist the next day. The only thing he could tell me was that I was dreaming of the Slenderman, which I had never heard of. Strange, I dream of something I've never heard of that's known by others. He didn't go too in-depth about what this thing looked like. I suppose he didn't want to scare me even more. I kept prying for details since my curiosity would never allow me to move on otherwise, but he didn't budge. Oh well. That wouldn't be necessary in about 3 hours.

That was when I came closer to the truth.

Having nothing else to do, I went to fetch the mail. Odd, it felt as though there was no danger anymore. That was a feeling I wouldn't have for long. Anyway, as I carried the mail in, a sheet of notebook paper dropped out of the stack. "Well, doesn't this seem familiar," I grumbled as I bent to pick up the paper. One thing was different, though. The paper held form as I held it in my hands and examined it. I seriously wish I hadn't. It was the most gruesome thing I had ever seen. It was a simple stick figure, not much better than I could've drawn with a spike impaled through his forehead. The blood from it looked almost real. That was because it was. Judging by its color, it was fresh. His expression, though, was even worse. His terrified scream looked so real I could almost hear his screams. My curiosity had really done me in now. "Your knowledge can never be truly infinite," I remembered. The paper dissolved into dust and blew away, just like in my dreams. The tall guy himself (Slenderman if I'm being too vague) appeared before me. I was tempted to run, but I knew it would be a naïve effort. He would just follow me. As he stretched his tentacles, preparing to take me for eternity, I only had time to scream, "BUT I ONLY HAD 1 PAGE!"

Moral: Curiosity can be dangerous if not controlled.

So how did I do? Were you at least somewhat disturbed? Tell me, I might write another one of these if you likes!
CreditWhoever came up with the original concept of the Slenderman for their ideas.

I've got another one in the making right now. I'm glad to see that people enjoy these, even if it's not my greatest writing. I think my other 2 pastas are better.
