Hi all.


If you've been wondering why there hasn't been much new content in the Shaft, it's because I've been working on a new prototype project.


Introducing: Forever War.


An endless loop of gunfights in situations varying from urban warfare to trench warfare to beachheads.

The Player would take a side in whatever map they're playing, and shoot at the bad guys to their heart's content, and also be able to command certain soldiers to lead attacks.

Wait, what? You wanna know the story?

Not much (right now anyway). Basically 2 sides in a war were given the magical ability to have infinite manpower or infinite ammunition. They both took their own ability respectively, and are now in a locked conflict where neither side makes any gains.
The side with infinite manpower treats their soldiers as meat, not everybody even has a weapon and soldiers are shot for not blindly running into the enemy, whereas the side with infinite ammo only has limited manpower, causing them to take a defensive approach as to not lose valuable guys.


I might be able to provide a test map for this soon, but no promises. It's difficult to make it work properly.

Hopefully that'll happen but this is in an incredibly early stage right now (I started on-and-off work on this like a month ago lmao).

Or who knows, maybe this idea proves too janky and has to be scrapped. Hopefully that's not the case.

I'll keep working on the Shaft, but I'll mostly have my attention on this new project.
