Minecraft: An infinte world with infinite possibilities, limited only by ones imagination and creativity... But IS there any creativity left?
Skins: A way for a user to display his/her/others personal preferences. But are they actually individuals?
Let me explain: Everywhere I go, all I can see are skins. Dragon skins, Robot skins, naked women skins (not cool), and some interesting designs, but you know what trumps them all? The generic hoodie/headphones combo. I don't see the point to them. Everyone has the right to make and use what ever they want, but are they made? Or just used? This combo is so overused it has become practically a joke.
Why do these skins exist in multitude? I have a few reasons:
A: They look "cool" and everybody else does it.
B: It takes no effort to make.
C: You can "customize" it as easily as it is to change a patent.
D: Society.
E: Swag.

Where has the creativity of Minecraft gone? Why has this once proud community degraded to the collective works of 8 year olds with no understandings of the words "unique" "personality" and "individuality"?

There isn't much that can be done, I can't force anyone to change skins, but  I ask of you all, try out other skins for once, it's not too bad. Try focusing on something other than headphones, sweaters, chains, and bandanas. It's not as cool as you think.

Don't percieve this blog as a bash on all skin makers. There are some beautiful skins out there, but they are being overlooked for simple, "appealing" skins of totes swagilicious bro skins.

Thank you for your time.
Comments are welcome of course.

Update: There are people who seem like they may be targeted by this. I'm not saying anyone has original skins or not. Please don't feel like I'm bashing you.

Update 2: It has come to my attention that I may be excluding some people. To those who create these skins on their own, good job for being unique in that sense, but (as a completely objectional suggestion) try making a skin that would make peopel go "Wow, I hadn't thought of a skin like that. I like that guy!"

I'm happy my skin is a dead israphel in a prison suit with blood, It's **** but? NOBODY FRICKING USES IT because people are.

1. Scared (lol).

2. Think it's ugly.

1/10 points for creativity.

You, sir, deserve all the gold stars in the world.

There are original skin makers still left, but not very many. I make my own skins and occasionally I'll post one of them online. There's nothing wrong with headphones, sweaters, chains, or bandanas, but it seems like everyone has a skin like that. I used to like that kind of skin... until everyone started to have them. I miss when everyone was individual, but nowadays you will see 3 people with the same skin in 1 day. I hope I'm not being offencive to anyone, and I'm also sorry if i spelled anything wrong.

YES, there ARE some original skins. I agree, a lot are copied, but tons of people make awesome, original skins.

That's the point I want people to take from this. Not all skins are unoriginal, just the original skins are being overshadowed by these skins.

*sighs loudly* Okay since we are on this topic AGAIN for the hundredth time I am not even going to bother arguing about people being able to like what they like because that seems to just fly over peoples heads anyways. Also I know you have had an account for only two days but next time search to see if someone else has done a blog on the same topic recently before you make something.

Anyways while I agree that teen skins could be more original a lot of people on this site seem to have the mindset that the second someone joins they will be an amazing skin maker. This website has a comment section for a reason. So many people that make blogs like this never want to give feedback on individual tips on skins and it seems like they hope skinners will just automatically make skins in a way that they like.

I read some of your responses below like how this is an issue because there are more blogs about this and yeah it has been an issue for awhile now and do you know why? It's because everyone just wants to hope things will change without ever doing any work to actually change things. People just make blogs about this over and over again and then hope someone else will convince skinners to change things. Honestly if you people want change so badly why don't you actually try leaving tips on skins or requesting character skins if they accept requests so they can try something new. I'm not saying everything will work but at least try to change things before crying about it.

Thank you for the reply, allow me to rebute:
1. I admit I did not thoroughly check to see if this was being stated already.
2. It does NOT actually go over my head that people are entitled to their own likes/dislikes, but there's a difference between liking something, and making multiple skins of it.
3. Let me direct you to the 3rd paragraph of the blog: "There isn't much that can be done, I can't force anyone to change skins, but  I ask of you all, try out other skins for once, it's not too bad. Try focusing on something other than headphones, sweaters, chains, and bandanas. It's not as cool as you think." That is both a suggestion and a tip. I can't make people change their ways.
4. If this is such a "over-milked" topic, why do you feel the need to reply to them all?
5. It sounds to me that you're suggesting that unless I force people to, they WON'T change.
6. There is not a single tear on this page. Neither physical or pixelated.
7. I can do things on my own thank you, do you not see the support I have just from this blog? Times that by All of the blogs on here? Is that not something? Or is it not good enough for the close-minded, elitist thinking you have?
8. I haven't had the free time to go to every single swag skin on this website and say "Hey, do this instead." Why? BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM.
9. I don't expect anyone to be the next picasso when they join. I still am less than stellar at making skins. But that DOES NOT mean you can just jump on the band wagon and make these skins before trying.
Thank you for your time.

1. I know.
2. Okay and what is the difference exactly? If someone likes a certain type of skin why wouldn't they want to make more skins of the same type?
3/5. I know you can't make other people change their ways and I am saying you should force people to. I am saying if you want change why don't you actually give people suggestions personally. I am not saying just you.
4. Well I don't reply to every blog on this topic but I do reply to a lot of them because I like seeing other peopls viewpoints.
6. I don't know I see a lot of tears on this page but that might be just me ;p
7. Okay you have a lot of support here but all the other blogs about the same thing had a lot of support too and we are in the same place we were months ago when people were saying the same things you were. I would love to see how I am the one who is close-minded and elitist when you are the one who hates skins just because of what they are wearing.
8. Again I am not saying you should go to every single "swag"(Seriously just say teen skins)skin on the website. I am saying that most of the people that make blogs like since just want to sit around and hope things change. Unless this blog makes it too the frontpage or every teen skin maker visits the blog section they probably won't see what you have to say. It's like getting terrible service at a resturant and instead of telling the company or something you make a blog about it and hope they see it any change things. Yeah they might see the blog but if you told them directly there is a bigger chance they will actually consider what you say.
9. I like how you assume that because the skins are simple that everyone can make them in like 30 minutes and be done. I can't make a skin to save my like and a teen skin would probably take me forever to make. Not every new person is going to jump into skinning by making original skins and a lot of people start by imitation because they see a skin they like. It happens with art too. Hopefully they will start to develop their own style but people shouldn't not be allowed to post their skins just because you don't like them. And a lot of people leave there comments open so it's not like they all aren't open to feedback.
10. Again like I said you don't have to comment on everything but at least try it on people that look like they have potential -_- It's not really that hard.
Thank you for your time too.
