Hi guys, today I wanted to tell you bloggers, and non-bloggers why we blog, and what gives us the inspiration to do so. If you haven't noticed, I have started to put in much more effort into my blogs, to give you even more quality submissions.

I would also like to thank hobo joe and Doggle for helping me write this. Be absolutely sure to check them out and subscribe to them. Without them, this blog would not be as awesome as it is now.

So Why do you Blog? (Whoever01)

The vast majority of blogs are rants and personal opinions/stories. I rant mainly because I like addressing issues to the public, many of which you already see, but don't recognize. I attempt to make people think about the issues and what good/bad it is really dong for a largely growing community.

I often write personal stories about my success, and what I have become. These blogs are fan-based (directed more to my subscribers and not the general public) and tell people a little bit more about myself and my success (so far). It also lets me look back on many things as well such as what I have become over my days of writing.

I write about my opinion as a part of free speech and seeing if people agree with me. It is also a little bit like my rant-side of writing. Not everyone of course agrees with me, so I do get a little hate but after all, it's still a blog.

The Inspiration of Inspiring (hobo joe)

I write blogs so that I may have the chance to inspire someone who reads them so that they may have the motivation to press on and do something great. It's not easy to write something that is inspiring, infact it takes quite a bit of thought. I enjoy writing about what I've experienced on the road to where I am now so that other people that have not shared my experiences may be able to learn from what I've done and be able have some of there own.

It's been great, seeing how far people have gone, seeing how great they've become, and to think that what inspired them was something as simple as a blog. It honestly doesn't take much to inspire, because all you need to do to inspire someone is to be able to believe in them.

"You can't put a limit on anything. The more you dream, the farther you get"

-Michael Phelps

What Blogs I Do (Doggle)

Well I am Doggle and I have been blogging on and off for a few years. Right here, right now, I want to explain to you about the sort of blogs I do. I like to blog about the same things I like to discuss with my friends. Now I am not talking about things which I discuss such as what game to play, but real-world events, issues, different ways we feel and that sort of thing. I like to write about my attitude on different perspectives and how we can make ourselves better people.

I like to write about real world events and things that can affect me because I know that if I dono t say anything, I cano t do anything. Just like a politician, sharing your idea and pushing it to others is a big part in my life. I dono t want to be o just another guy walking down the roado later in life, I want to know I have changed at least one persono s view, whether it be for better or for worse. I want to know I have helped at least that one person, and by telling people my views, I could hopefully get people to open up and help someone with issues.

I only blog about certain things because that is what I wish to share about; mainly due in part to a lot of things I could blog about are very subjective, and as a blogger you dono t want to have a personal view, you want a more of a general view. It is important to keep a wide view when writing as a more personal view can hurt more trying to talk about it and having people insult it, as blogging comes from the heart.

But I like to blog about events that affect me, as I said, to inform people about my views and help make a difference. But the reason why is, because I look up to people who do the same thing. I like to write stories, scripts and such, but I dono t want to share just those ideas, I want to know I made a difference, just like many Youtubers, politicans and such. I like to help people, and sharing my ideas is just one of the many ideas possible for me to help you, whether it be talking about homosexuality, manners, morals or computers, I like to share my views and knowledge with you so those who have conflicting views can weigh out both sides and can defend or attack other views, which is what my blogs are all about.

So leto s leave this here with a single rhetorical question, is like really just one big uncertainty?

What do I Consider When Blogging? (Whoever01)

Well, before I get to that, I will get to this. I sometimes patrol the blogs section, and give it a personal, non-distributed (nobody knows about it) rating according to this Blog-O-Meter of effort.

THE BLOG-O-METER!

The blog-o-meter is something I'll use to demonstrate a good blog to you and the amount of effort that the creator has put into them.

Statistics

A blog with level 1 will contain
  • No image
  • Very little/no formatting
  • Absolutely no revisions or drafting
  • Bad grammar
  • 3 small paragraphs most
  • Very vague/unclear/useless/stupid point or purpose

These are blogs that deserve no diamonds or hearts, and should not be posted on PMC. They are utterly useless and are not needed to be on PMC. About 25% of all blogs.

A blog with level 2 will contain
  • No image/a random image from Google images
  • (Very) little formatting
  • Maybe a short spellcheck, but otherwise, poor revisions
  • Poor - Moderate grammar
  • 2 - 6 paragraphs
  • Complete nonsense, a status message or spam-like blog

These blogs have slightly more effort, but they are still low-quality and deserve little recognition. If a blog is level 2 but is the absolute best a person can do, it will cut it. About 35% of all blogs.

A blog with level 3 will contain
  • Random images, a screenshot, stolen image or quick MS Paint (or similar program) image
  • Maybe a bit more formatting, with some reason. May not be very eye catching, though
  • Usual spellcheck, and maybe a quick look over of sentences as typed.
  • Moderate - Good grammar. Spellcheck usually used.
  • 3+ paragraphs. Meets the word limit naturally at all times
  • Somewhat useful topic and usually follows most rules. May still be a bit vague.

Level 3 is a mediocre blog, but having heaps of 3s are better than 2s and 1s. This is an average blog for a person not strong in the field of writing. About 20% of all blogs.

A blog with level 4 will contain
  • A useful image used with Google images, a purposeful screenshot and good MS Paint picture. Images might contain words or captions.
  • Nice and persistent/purposeful formatting, and is easy to read. May contain a YouTube video
  • Drafted prior to posting, to allow more time or to revise. Spellcheck always used if browser has it installed by default (Eg. Chrome)
  • A reasonable length of quality submission
  • A useful topic and engaging to readers.

These blogs deserve diamonds, hearts and subscriptions, and have had effort put into them and can be considered quality content. These blogs will almost always get on the pop reel. About 10% of all blogs.

A blog with level 5 will contain
  • A very useful, original image with title or purposeful text. A screenshot may be used.
  • High quality and easily presentable formatting. Effort has been put into making the blog look good. May use YouTube video (with written dialouge) or a decorated image with text
  • Always drafted and checked over. Sometimes revised by someone else.
  • A high quality blog with a reasonable length (not too big, not too small) and purposeful and persistent text
  • A great, original topic that reels in readers as they click the link

This is a perfect and elite blog, that deserves every single diamond that it gets. This is the effort every blog should be attempted to achieve. 5% of all blogs.

I give myself a solid 4 on my current blogs (very occasionally 5), and a 2 1/2 - 4 on my older blogs. This data is simply my opinion and criteria based, so no hate about MY opinion. Quality blogging comes with effort, and nothing else. If you can't put the effort in, you will only need a small bag to carry your diamonds.

So back to the point, one of the things I heavily consider is the amount of effort I put into my blogs. I always try to aim for at least a 4, which all bloggers should be doing (of course, they can aim to 5). I will try to put some more effort into this blog, as I have 2 special guests helping me out and I don't want to ruin their reputation, so effort and patience it is.

For me personally, I read the rules of site and submissions over before posting, as I used to have lots of blogs removed for breaking even 1 PMC rule. I try to flash back some of the removals I have had previously so I can remember what mistakes not to make and how the moderators comment on this bog without it being headed with 'Removed Submission.' It may seem useless, but itis very helpful.

A final thing to consider, and this is a very new thing to me, would other users complain. I realised from my Unfair Fame blog that the vast majority of users loved it, and agreed to my point, some re-stated what I wrote (because they didn't read/understand the whole thing) and some (usually the popular bloggers) said I was complaining how they have fame because they put in effort and don't complain like me. When one of these people posted, many people suddenly agreed and realised that I was some kid complaining about the fame of others and how unrecognised users are being hated.

So, now I revise and say 'Would one of them people come up and comment about a very small thing?' Yes, we are human and we make human mistakes, but we need to check over, as we all have different opinions and some people are much more picky than others. Sounds unfair, eh. Just how this world works.

Conclusion

So we all write differently. I write rants, hobo joe writes inspirational blogs and Doggle likes to blog about what he chats about to his IRL and PMC friends. We all write in the ways that we want to express, whether it be issues, tutorials or even your own experiences. We have our own opinions, and the blogs section has many opinions and works of creativity, except for me, and me!

Just so you know, on the "blog-o-metre" and the spoiler accompanying it, number 4 is near impossible to read for anyone who has the gift of sight.

This is a really good blog!
I have one question though..
Does the blog meter fit in with story's too?
Because I write storys, and some chapters are only four paragraphs, would that make it a bad part?
