chapter 1

The sun was low, i glanced at my coffee. It rippled gently; i looked back up at the tv then at the remote. The news came on “a virus, prevously found in deer, has spread to humans. Transfered by bite it acceses your bloodstream and rewrites your dna. In other words a zombie virus”

I flicked the tv off and sat on my sofa, my hand rested upon the bridge of my nose. I felt a something in my gut a sickness, an unease or sense of danger. I knew what i had to do.

I rose from sofa and glanced at the clock, ten to three i then carried my stride hastly, through the threshold of my lounge and into my main hall i continued to my bedroom and stared out the window, i glared over the street from my apartment on the 15th floor, no body was outside. But a car ablaze was crashed into the neigbouring apartment. A body was sprawled under the car, a dislocated arm lay several metres away.

A few years back i had passed self defence casses i had done karate and swordplay, i knew if it came to it i could defend myself pretty well. I walked past my bed to a shelf above my desk, my reiper was on its hook dangaling in the corner of my room between my computer and piles of graphic novels. I lifted up of the hook and swung it in my right hand gliding it through my hands and then i grabbed the sheith from under my bed and fastned it round my waist and slided the weapon in. i briskly walked to the door and hurried down the stairs.



I swung the apartment door open and went outside. Air filled my lungs, it felt corrosive my lungs felt clotted by i carried on walking, i went to the car and ducked, i shifted weight to my legs as i crouched, i inspected the body beneath. It learched forward i leaned back, the body was moving, the virus had reached it. I started running, picking up speed as i moved, i reached my favorite parkour spot. I jumped I pulled myself atop the electrical box. I gazed over the street I was on and saw a group emerging in the distance. I was alone in this.
