“You’re late again, Drakonith!”
I groaned as I walked in. Why do I keep forgetting to fix my clock that was always an hour late? Everybody laughed as I walked in. Well, not everybody. My friend Ares seemed to not laugh. I took my seat.
“Come on Drakon, why are you always late?,” said Ares.
“Because his body is always an hour late. I saw his spirit fly in!” Everyone laughed once again.
“Shut up, Dijji,” I said, “I know you are just doing it for Farore.”
He went quiet, and I knew I had him beat. I am a fourteen year old boy with a wiry body and with almost-black hair with a little bit of red. I was definitely one of the smartest kids in my class. My friend Ares was a boy with bulky build, but rendered rather small by Dijji. Both of them had small brains, but were always at war with each other. Din, Nayru, and Farore were the three children of the principal. My school is called the school of fire, where we learn fire magic. 90% of the kids know that Dijji likes Farore. But what nobody knows is that I like Nayru. Most of the kids know of Nako, and the legend of him. Rumors say that Nako hates our school’s principal so much that he attacked our school. Luckily, the school destroyed his army of fallen soldiers. Now, all that mattered was not getting in trouble.
“Both of you, run five laps around the school,” bellowed our teacher.
That was a mistake, because every time I do that, he is too focused to know that I get first dibs on the ice cream that is always available at recess. Then again, I always keep my eye out, and sometimes I think that's why our teacher doesn’t trust me. So after getting a triple scoop, I went into the class and sat down. We listened to some boring stuff like pi and other mathematical equations.
It happened 5 days later during E.L.A. We were writing a 15-page essay, and an explosion echoed through the nearby area.
