People have been "not minding" about our planet.  THEY DON'T GET THAT WE ARE RISKING VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEMS!!  I mean...  What is so difficult about throwing your trash in the trash can instead of the floor. As the latins would say: Mundi est tantum unum. Si moritur morimur, et non renascatur. Ita sapiunt tua actiones!
 - The world is only one. If it dies, we die, and it won't be reborn. So mind your actions! (not sure if it is trnslated correctly :D)

Recycling doesn't sound or seem so difficult either. It's very easy. You just throw your trash into special trash cans.
Plant a tree, save the world. Everybody could plant a tree, am I right?

Here's one fact:
It is true that the world would be better if we just shot the trash in the space. No one would do that? You know why? MONEY! But they don't see the real reason why they shouldn't shoot it in the space. Did you honestly think about this? Biological stuff becomes dirt overtime. If we just shot it in the space the earth wouldn't have anymore resources. Even if the stuff is not organic, like metal, we would still run out of resources.

The only thing we can do is recycle, plant and bury biological material so it will become dirt.

"What point does that have?! We will die one day anyways. If we will live while the world is 'in a fine state', why should we do something we don't have any use of??", said *anonymous*
I replied: "What the heck are you talking about? Didn't your mother teach you something except stupidness?? Please shut up forever"

As my Biology teacher used to say: "We didn't inherit the world from our ancestors. We borrowed it from our descendants". Reminder: My teacher isn't dead.

So please think about all this and care about the world.  Btw, I made the Blog's featured image myself :D

I'm assuming, when you say 'gay', you mean ruining other people's fun rather than actually being homosexual. There isn't anything wrong with being homosexual, it's just who someone is.

In my religion, being a homosexual is wrong. I have to say, I noticed many people on PMC are Liberals. Though, I think he used it to degrade a comment, not talk about homosexuality.

My comment is then, retarded and stupid.

Everybody keep our planet alive!
Do not leave floating trees!
Do not make 1x1 towers!
Do not make lava-water towers!
Put water over every lava you see! lava causes global warming!

Gosh, are you sure that world won't just for gods sake make new oil, ores will be made over time and materials and things will never stop? ... Trees can spread themselves, but it takes some years, but yes. Planting a tree or plant is something you should do. But, why do it here in sweden or far away from here, like in canada? We have got ALOT of forest, I say.. ALOT! Everywhere you look, you can see just forest. It will probably take like billions of years before the worlds rescources is gone, but when there is no rescources on the Earth. I'm pretty sure, that we live far far far away from Earth on some other planets. Goddamnit, stop believing everything that "our goverment" says. Most of it is bullshit and most of the things like "OH NO, WE ARE GOING TO DIE! ... Buuuhuu!" "The world's forest and plants will die, if you don't play new trees! AWWWWWW D:" .. I'm sick of it, and this is the sentence that I just want to punch someone when they say it! "All oil will probably be gone in a hundreds of years! .. There will be nothing left!! BLEEEEEAAAH!" .. I hate it, I don't think that the human race know how the world works, not even I. Everything that we say, may be wrong. Earth maybe is creating new rescources, but it may stop making rescources. Who knows? Just wait 20 billions of years and see.

easier said then done recycling....

recycling a nice idea.. but are you going to do it? are you yourself going to work at a recycling plant? are you? no you feel to good for it. so instead you throw your trash in multible trash cans and you think you are done. from that trash can to recycled products is a very very long way.

most trash gets burned anyways, and with that heat they heat water, the steam runs through turbines and with that electricity your pc is working right now.

if you really want to save the world then get rid of the oil as soon as possible... it saves wars and a lot of trouble. if there is no more oil they are forced to come up with better solutions.  stop the cutting of the rainforest. clean the oceans of the so called plastic islands and so on..

what you yourself can do is try to produce less trash, throw less food away. buy products that are packed in less plastic than others. try to use things twice. use natural products... try not to use to much chemicals, and dont try to exterminate wildlife in your garden if you have one...

Well, if we shot trash into space, our satellite communications infrastructure would be in danger of even more space debris. Which costs money.

I think they would consider that they should only mine asteroids smaller than a given size and density so that it poses no threat to the Earth in the case that there's a calculation screw up that sends it into atmo.

This seems to be a pretty flamey blog. From what I've seen most people here want the human race to die out, which seems pretty foolish if I'm honest. And its not just about recycling, energy matters to. Unfortunately most people seem to be very pro-wind and very anti-nuclear, not realizing that nuclear fuel is one of the most efficient fuel sources out there.

Not really. Nuclear fuel is the most efficient non-renewable fuel if it is used safely. Everybody just uses Chernobyl is a case like this. But Chernobyl was running over capacity which lead to a catastrophic fire in the reactor chamber. If nuclear fuel is used safely we have nothing to fear.

Chernobyl was safe. The reason it caught fire was down to an overload it. It didn't just spontaneously explode.

If Chernobyl was safe, the overload would never have happened.

rageman96

No, it was perfectly safe. It was human error at fault, not the reactor. They decided to let it go past the safe levels, and the reactor couldn't handle it. Kind of like blowing up a balloon too much

TormentedBadger

Take into consideration that Chernobyl was 26 years ago. Technology has developed so, so much since then. If we were to take the Fukushima disaster that happened a while ago, the plant was affected by the earthquake itself, it was hit by waves and the cores were still intact. Only one of the reactors was damaged because there was nothing to cool it down and exploded leaking radiation. But to be honest, it was fighting against nature, wasn't it?
Nothing is 100% efficient, but to be honest, nuclear power is one of the best shots we've got.

Weston127
Level 16
Journeyman Architect
June 14, 2012, 1:27 pm

I know. However, he is saying that is was safe, when it was not. You cannot use Fukushima as an example because it was against nature. Chernobyl was a human error. Therefore, that portion of your argument was invalid. However, nuclear power is the best chance we got. What about the nuclear waste though?

rageman96
Site Moderator

Fukushima is an excellent example. If the reactor remained relatively stable in an event that we couldn't control, then it should be fine providing we stay smart. As for nuclear waste, that is slightly more problematic, but still not too dangerous. It can be buried or placed in lead-lined bunkers

Weston127
Level 16
Journeyman Architect
June 14, 2012, 4:19 pm

Yeah, but I just wanted to say that he was using an irrelevant example. He stated that Fukushima was an example. Chernobyl was a human error. Fukushima was a work of nature. You cannot compare the two because they were different things at work, see? Before we continue, I would like to say I am not trying to offend you at all.

Ever since i studied nuclear energy in grade 10 last year i have always thought that nuclear energy would be possibly the best way for energy. Sure there are some stuff ups rarely but if the governments put enough money into protecting and safety then we shouldn't have a problem. Just that the government needs to start thinking smart for the future, even if we have to spend millions of dollars it will be worth it in the future. Its one of the best investments you could make.

You know, stealing ideas from Futurama (shooting a garbage ball into space) wouldn't work. You need to put down the TV remote and think logically, the Earth would be better off if the entire Human race just suddenly died off - all we are is pollution.

Cdncool

We started it, We should fix it. The whole human race is obviously not going to agree to kill themselves. Therefore, if we all did die off, that means we didn't do a thing to stop it. Ways of protecting the earth, and education on how to protect it is growing. The earth would be an even better place if we all do a simple part to help it.
