I jumped out of bed at 6 AM, ate, quickly got dressed and stopped at the mirror.
“This is going to be your day, John. This is the day you’ve been waiting for.” - I said to myself.
I had a job interview at 7 AM at the next town up north. I knew it would be a long and tiresome drive, but I did not care. All I cared about was getting that job. And so, I got into the car and I started driving.
The roads were completely deserted, for all the time I was driving I hadn’t seen a single car on the road.
“You can do this, John. Just believe in yourself, just-”
The car had stopped. The engine had broken down. I looked at my watch. Thirty minutes left, I needed to get there. I started looking for someone to hlep me or drive me. To my right, I found a path. I hurried along the path and arrived in what seemed to be a very old village. Even though it seemed old, it looked quite pleasant. Looking around, I noticed the houses were vacant. In one of the larger houses, I found evidence of people living there, but there was no one there. Suddenly, I noticed it became darker. I stepped outside and looked at the sky. It was nighttime.
“It can’t be nighttime!” - I thought.
Not even a full five minutes ago I was driving in broad daylight, but it wasn’t daylight anymore. I heard footsteps around me. I was no longer in the pleasant village I described earlier, but instead I felt like I was in a horrific nightmare where something evil could just grab me from behind. And then I knew, I knew there was something evil behind me, waiting for me to turn around, so I didn’t, at first. But my curiosity was too great, I just wanted to see…
And I did.
I woke in a room with the odor of decaying corpses. And that was exactly what the room was filled with - decaying corpses. Based on what was left of their clothes it was clear enough that these were the village people.
“Who could have done this? What could have done this?” - I wondered.
After looking carefully through the room, I found nothing but beds and dead bodies. There was not even a door.
“This is not possible! How did I get in if there is no door?” - I thought.
And then, it became worse.
The walls started to move, shoving the corpses towards my bed.
“This must be a dream! It can’t be real!” - I said to myself.
And that’s when it came to me. The sky didn’t turn black, I just fell asleep while driving. All I needed to is relax in the bed and wake up. Relax, and wake up…
But I didn’t.
It was not a dream, it was very real. I never imagined that I would die being crushed by walls in a room surrounded by corpses. I saw a small blade next to one of the corpses. But I didn’t think about saving myself, I didn’t think about survival. For a single moment all I wanted to do was end it, end it all.
And I did.
I woke up once again, this time sitting on a bench outside. It was daytime. The world around me was beautiful, the birds were singing wonderful songs of happiness. I looked in front of me and stared, shocked at what I had seen. This was my funeral. I was dead. I kept telling myself that it was all a dream and that I would wake up.
But I never did.

you probably could've made the car stopping part a little more dramatic but i'm no writer
lmao
the car stopping is the origin of all the events leading to his death, right? it should be more descreptive i guess
