Hey there Fellow Viewers! I'm finally back from the beach, which means I'm 16 now! And I'm Not Dead! ...Yay? But Seriously, who cares about that when that episode of Steven Universe I finally wanted to see is out! If you didn't read the How I Came to Like Steven Universe Part 2 Blog Post, here's a little summary of what the Synopsis of what I originally thought the Episode of Too Short to Ride was going to be like...
There Be Spoilers Ahead! :O
Peridot sees a Commercial on TV about some new Dangerous Roller Coaster (Firey Fist of Pain Clone), so she begs Steven to go to Funland. (They get a Tablet in the Mail before they go to bed by the way.) She eventually goes to Funland on a bus, but when the Gang finally gets to the Firey Fist of Pain Clone, Peridot finds out she is too short to ride it. She gets stuck riding the most embarrassing ride of all time, The Mitten Clone. Everybody Mocks her when going on the Mitten Clone, and she finally decides she had enough. So the Adventure unfolds as she tries to retain her Limb Enhancers under the Ocean in a Submarine. Amethyst also apologizes for throwing her Limb Enhancers in the Water, and they ride the Firey Fist of Pain clone together. After the ride, Peridot gets a Plush Alien from one of the games, and the rest they say, is history.
That was my Original plot for the Too Short to Ride Episode, but was I right? Well, to be honest with you, no.
If you want Spoilers for this Episode, Here's a Link to Satisfy your Spoiling Hunger! I'm still going to say a bunch of Spoilers in the blog, so like the warning says above, There be Spoilers! Now let me tell you, I was horribly wrong from my Hypothesis, and it's basically like what Pokémon does with their fans, they prove them wrong every dang time by throwing curveballs at them. Some Positives are that there's No Fusion.
Now let me tell you, Fusions are Ugly! Sorry, I just had to let it out there. The only one that seems amusing is Sardonyx, but even Garnet can't match something like Ruby without her shades! I would absolutely hate it if fans got what they wanted (Lapis and Peridot making Aquamarine or whatever), because I don't want to see Peridot as something as ugly as a Pognog! Just please don't to that to my smol Cutie!
Second, this Episode made me want to have a Peridot Plushie even more than I ever wanted.
Everything she says is Golden! I just want to hug her! The thing is, I wanted her to get on the ride. She really deserves it, and it freaking proves that Mr. Smiley is a jerk. I know he's some business guy, but come on! She's just too cute! And her hair was touching the line, so that's gotta count, right!? *sigh* Curse You Smiley Man!! Rarrrg!
PBG References aside, The Last Positive is that it finally reveals Peridot's Secret Power!
Just... I didn't expect her to have Mewtwo Powers, but oh my gosh, I love it!! It's so much better than having some dumb old weapon! Move over Ruby, there's a new better weapon than Punching, and that's The Move Psychic! But Seriously, This also brings the return to Syndrome Powers, just less visible. I know people are Speculating she can only move Metal and (possibly) plastic, but Who Cares! It makes me so happy that she actually has the same powers as what Mewtwo has. Just... YES! Also this power could lead to more Syndrome moments, and she could possibly say "Oh! This is just too good!" when she finally has the power to wreck Steven! (Yeah, there's still gotta be some hate for Steven in her, right?)
Are there some Negatives? Um... Yes, Just Two. The Only Two Flaws I have is that She didn't get her Limb Enhancers back, and she never went on any Mitten Clones. All those are pretty much nit picks, so please don't splash at me!
The Verdict:
So was this Episode a Filler? Well, No. It was actually a very cute Episode that made me want to hug Peridot even more! I mean yeah, the only thing that's missing from this Episode is if she got Pokémon Go. I mean seriously, that's trumping Social Media for crying out loud! I would like it if they had Parody of Pokémon Go, like Golf Quest Go or something like that (Because Golf Quest Mini in Steven Universe is a Reference to Pokémon). Get on it Cartoon Network, please just get on it!
Score:
Characters: 9/10 Peridot Sold it for me! The Only Point off was because of Mr. Smiley...
Story: 7/10 Haven't Predicted it exactly, but Still a cute Episode Anyways.
Laughs: 9/10 Only the Jokes from Peridot make me either Laugh or Say "Daww!" :3
Overall: 25/30 Some Flaws, but if you like Peridot, it's a Must Watch! :D
Well, thanks for Reading! I know that I've been making nothing but Steven Universe Articles the past few weeks, but it's okay, because the Next Article will be about something that's not Steven Universe related! You'll find out what it is when it's out. I'll see you next time! Bye!
