Miranda squeezed Bethany's hand as they were running down to the basement.

What's going on? asked Bethany.

I would tell you if I could Bethany but I musn't. Responded Miranda

Miranda caught a glimpse of a window and saw the figure with cold white eyes getting closer.
Squeezing Bethany's hand, Miranda said,

Bethany go run ahead , but you must hurry, do not be afraid, for he smells fear.

Bethany nodded, let go of Miranda's hand , and ran. Miranda watched her until she was just a tiny dot scurrying through the shadows. Miranda looked around and found a torch she pointed it to the window and saw the figure even closer now but this time he stared back and soon Miranda knew what he was saying without him even saying it.

Give me my daughter.

Miranda ran to the direction Bethany went Looking back every once in a while , and once she turned back for the 6th time she screamed.
