My first blog! Heres a story for you guys!


         The sun began to set, and the games were still going on. I heard footsteps behind me. I ran. I didn't have much skill, but I was smart, and thats what had kept me alive for so long. 18 of the 24 tributes were dead by now. I had no desire to kill, but if that was the only thing that could keep me alive, I would do it. I felt the sweat drip down my brow, and I was getting tired. I heard the footsteps of someone in hot pursuit, they must have heard me. I thought that I was a goner, but then I heard an arrow whizz by, and hit the person behind me. he fell to the ground with a groan, but I knew that he wasn't dead. As I wondered where the arrow came from, I was scooped up and put in a tree. I was told to be silent if I wanted to live by a man with a diamond sword and a bow. I figured that it would be best to listen to him, so I didn't say a word. The person that had been following me stood up and started running in the direction that he had heard me go. As he went by the tree, the man dropped down and slid his diamond sword into the back of the other person. He motioned for me to come down, then said one word. Team. It was just the two of us against one person. We struggled to stay alive. The game makers had made the arena cruel, and we were suffering from various cuts, stings, and welts, as well as various other wounds. We were constantly in much pain. We struggled on though, and found the other person. He was badly wounded, and tripped when he tried to run. When my teammate swiftly killed him, I ran realizing what would come next. I fell, and looked into the sky for what I thought would be the last time. I knew that I would die soon, but then.... Something unexpected happened. He came up to me, and put the sword into my hands. He lifted me up, then turned away. But he didn't flee. I stabbed the sword deep into his back, then removed it, and crimson blood gushed from the wound. I knew that he wouldn't be alive for long. A minute later, I heard a cannon. I was lifted from the arena, from the side of my mysterious fallen ally. The games were over. I had won.
