There are not many people who like vanilla Minecraft textures are there? They're noicey, and low resoloution. So why does Mojang make the default textures like that?It's because it's a style. A style that is easily identifiable as the Minecraft style! You can't deny it works. It's a style that has made Mojang many moneys!
But Notch is not stupid. He knew people wouldn't like those textures. Can anybody remember a time when there wasn't a texture pack option? Minecraft is more than a game; it's a chance for people to show there creative talent. People make all sorts of artistic, and technical pieces in minecraft. It may be in the form of redstone, texture packs, skins, buildings or mods.
Anyway, to my point! Texture packs are a chance for people to show off, what they think Minecraft should look like. They can be made by anyone, for personal use or for sharing! But it doesn't matter; this is the internet... We all know that on the internet, there is keyboard warriors, who will make any attempt to put down anyones artistic 'talent'.
Obviously, there is a lot of crap on the internet, and of course, ignoring it isn't always the nicest thing to do. Sometimes, people need to be saved from further embarrassment. So why have you guys always got to be so mean? Just say 'it needs work', or 'keep trying'. The internet is a cruel place, it doesn't hurt to just be a bit nicer to people!
Of course, there are some amazing texture packs out there. So, tell them how amazing they are! I always give a diamond if I see a texture pack I like. But, it seems on every single texture pack, there is somebody hating on it. It's really depressing, to see people who are hell bent on making other people feel bad, no matter how talented.
There is no texture pack that everybody is going to like. That's not how the world works. If you can think of one, you're wrong, I promise you! There are many popular texture packs, such as 'Sphax', 'Dokucraft' and 'John Smith'. But not everybody likes them.
I know it's stupid of me to try and control peoples actions on the internet. I know that people are probably going to hate on this blog post! But I'm sure I'm not the only one who is sick of seeing 'this texture pack is shit!', on every single texture pack that gets posted!
