I'm sure many people have noticed their old texture packs no longer change the look of most blocks. This is due to the 1.5 update.

Before the update, you could have a single sheet that would show textures for most of the blocks. As of 1.5, this is no more. Instead, texture packs now require a different png. file for each block's top, bottom, and sides.

Unfortanately, the only way for old texture packs to work will be if the original maker updates them or if you change the files yourself.

Want to browse texture packs that are both popular and for 1.5? I recommend looking at recently updated texture packs and just looking at how popular they are (How many diamonds, downloads, comments, that sort of thing). Also, look at the display window near the top of the texture pack homepage. It will show you new-but-popular texture packs that are likely for 1.5
