The World's Capital - Now, even more to Offer!
The Royal Wedding, the Diamond Jubilee, the Crowning of the Tallest Building in Europe, Chelsea FC winning the Champions League, and of course; the Olympics! London has seen some of it's greatest times in past months. It has truly retained it's status of being the worlds Capital of culture, sport, economics and fun! By fun I do not just mean hosting the greatest Olympics ever and putting on an amazing performance!

"Inspire a Generation"

Naturally the British are not a nationalistic people. Unlike our American cousins we can be quite reserved and quiet. However the last 2 years that has changed. Not only has these events changed Londoners, it's changed a youth. Not only in London, but the whole of Britain. There is a new sense of energy, and hope. A sense that Britain can still deliver. Now, personally I am not nationalistic and I am politically neutral. But I believe that this has been a year where Londoners can be truly proud! London has always had SO much to offer, but once again, 'The Ol' Smoke' has delivered a year of entertainment, joy, union and happiness. The newer generations have something to hang onto, and like the Olympics aimed to do; they did indeed "inspire a generation".

London - #1 on most Lists!
This however does not just affect Londoners or Britons, but also everyone! London has for years been the most visited place on earth! The City now has more to offer than any other metropolis. Do not just take my word for it! Take the words of famous organizations like Forbes, or Aol - these are some lists of the greatest cities in the world to visit! Its not a coincidence that London comes up as Number 1 on most lists.

My top moments for the last Months:

3 - Diamond Jubilee:
I did love the diamond jubilee as it was my first proper jubilee. It was also the first time I had ever seen the nation so busy and enthusiastic. Was quite the experience!

2 - Completion of The Shard:
The completion of the Shard! The unveiling of Europe's tallest building. The gleaming skyscraper was crowned with a truly outstanding laser show and for months has been a vital asset to the City's new ambitious skyline skyscraper project. A beautiful piece of architecture.

1 - The Olympic Games:
The Olympic Games. Hailed as the most successful games in history. Everything from this event was amazing and surpassed international standards and expectations with the facilities, the organization, the friendliness, the sportsmanship and of course, the Opening and Closing ceremonies. - Both times London proved it still retained the throne as the greatest city on earth and also a city not just stuck in it's own history but willing to change for the better. The games once again truly inspired a generation.

A City that always keeps Shining:
London really is a City that has everything. It offers; history, culture, economics, entertainment, architecture, amusement, and the city's general feel. It is sometimes SO busy, the thrill is intoxicating. The vast range of culture is second to none. 300+ languages spoken in one city, meaning London is the second most multi-cultural city on earth. Not only does London have history, London has future. A future that no other city can provide.

An easy Conclusion:
Thank You, the City of London for such an amazing summer. This was truly "A summer like no other", and it is true; the Best City in the World, Just got Better!

I feel like this was a very informative blog about London. But the extent you went to tell me it was the B-E-S-T felt like you were hitting me in the head with a brick and shouting it at me. And about us Americans if you think we are wild its sorta your nation's fault for when we weren't a nation yet treating us horribly.

That's fair enough. I appreciate your opinion. :)

But its no ones 'fault'. Likelyhood is that your family were not even in North America during the Revolution. Besides, neither of us lived during the 1700's. So it is no ones fault. Furthermore, Britain and America are the closest nations on earth. Working together politically, financially and militarily - and have been doing so for decades. Thus the 'Anglo-American World Power'.

Yes it is neither of our faults. I see it as our nations are kind of like siblings because of our many similarities. Britain is the older brother because of the long history of his nation and him taking care of America in the beginning. America is the little brother because he has had a shorter history. He is also the little brother because he tends to do things 'sometimes' without thinking. He is also a 'little' violent

And you are right my family does not date far back into America at all. The different parts of my family came mainly around and after WWI to the U.S. I am very European I have no origins outside of Europe. P.S. I'm have British and Irish origins so I support this blog ;)

Indeed. This is brilliant example. The US is obviously the stronger, and Britain thus the more frail. Yet its probably in total a 70/30 ratio of power. But this is not that relevant as the nations are so close and are always working together in all sorts of ways. But yeah, you are right.
haha yes. As are my ancestries are. My family heritages are from Ireland, and Eastern European Jew. Most people in Britain have heritages from all around the world due to the British Empire and immigration. For example; London now has 50% of all its residents born abroad. And London as a metropolitan area has a population of 14 million people. lol. This means that London is more multi-cultural than cities such as New York, and Sydney, it is only beaten by Toronto, Canada.
and lol thank you very much!! xD
