Oh hey guys! Eli Here again with another Steven Universe Blog! By golly gee, you're probably sick and tired of these too... Yeah, week after week, SU keeps holding me back even though there's so many things I want to talk about, especially during the Thanksgiving and Xmas Seasons (Don't worry, I have a blog coming up for those too...)! So what to do? Well, I have a SU Theory so mind blowing, that there may never be another SU blog again (Emphasis on the word "may" because TSUI still needs to continue and there's still a few reviews on SU I need to address)! If you like these SU Blogs, you can tell me in the comments if you want more. I know there's a few SU Fans out there who still want these, so I'll try to post some occasionally. But for now, lets address this Elephant of a theory!
Oh Gosh. I said the word... Anywho, The massive theory that I came up with is...
Coconut Fred being connected to Steven Universe.
Okay hold up guys! I know it's absurd, but just stick with me here! Without further ado, let's get this theory started!
Now, before we start, let me give you some backstory. So while I was binge watching some YouTube channels, I found that RebelTaxi made a new video. This guy is really funny, and I recommend him if you want some laughs. So his new review was about (what else?) Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island (CFFSI). If you don't know, CF (Coconut Fred) is basically a "rip-off" of SpongeBob (Happy but annoying main character, and everyone is annoyed except for a few people). I thought this would be a generic show, but boy was I wrong! Coconut Fred is able to create an island and all it's inhabitants. Some like him, but others hate him for how annoying he is. He is also able to make conflicts and other things appear out of thin air, all by saying "What if?". Like RebelTaxi says: "You're either with him, or against him".
After the review, I thought about Steven Universe, thinking of how annoying he is. Then I thought "How could Peridot like a person so annoying after being held by the Crystal Gems against her will? She never accepted it, and was forced to do so!". But then I realized... Steven could possibly be related to Coconut Fred. Why do I assume this? Well, in the video series, "The Classroom Gems", it's confirmed that Gems are Holograms, and are indeed just rocks. But wait a minute... Why are they Holograms? Why are they still able to be seen by Humans and other creatures? If they're Holograms, does that mean they can't be touched by other people?
Well, there is a Disney movie that everybody knows and can explain this: The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The Nostalgia Critic says that he thought the Gargoyles were part of Quasimodo's Imagination, but they were able to fight off other people, proving it wrong. Well what if I told you he did think up those Gargoyles out of pure boredom and loneliness and they were considered "Physically Real"?
In Coconut Fred, his "imagined inhabitants" are considered to either hate or fear their "Creator". This could prove CF is able to make life, but cannot control their personality. Heck, it's even shown in the latest episode, "Gem Harvest", that he is able to make life just by using his "Healing Spit". Sure, he could make life out of Objects, but he couldn't control it's personality. Coincidence? I think not.
By the way, the rest here is all assuming, because this was a silly story I made up with my mind to think why Gems exist. Here it is!
There Be Assumptions Ahead!
Now that we know Steven can indeed make life, and is experienced with it, almost like he had it since birth, we could say that the Gems were in fact made by Steven. But what about Rose? Heck what about the Diamond Authority? Well, let's go back to idea slushing guy himself: Coconut Fred. Now lets say he indeed made the Crystal Gems by saying "What if Gems and other Sparkly Rocks had a Personality, could fuse together to make stronger forms, and were Aliens from outer space?", possibly making this a Conflict he thought up randomly. This probably created Homeworld, The Diamond Authority (DA as we'll call it), and Rose Quarts.
Rose was probably blessed with Coconut Fred Powers, but was very limited with what she could do. Maybe Pink Diamond hated the fact that she could wield this strange power (creating life, etc.), but Rose shattered Pink Diamond to prevent her from making it a further issue. Rose went off to Earth, but the DA slowly followed her in her tracks.
After the Gem War, Greg bumped into Rose and fell in love. Blah Blah Blah, you know the rest. Rose had to sacrifice herself to make Steven not only to stop the DA from following her, but to also give her power up for him, thus the annoyingness known as Steven was born!
"But what about Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl?" Well, they were actually created by Coconut Fred from the "what if" idea, because Pearl were seen rescuing Ruby and Sapphire before ever coming into contact of Greg. "Hey! What about Ruby and Sapphire?" Also created by Coconut Fred! "Kindergartens?" Coconut. Fred. All that stuff that came from CF before Steven Universe was born (Except for Lapis and a few others).
Okay, now we're getting to my favorite part, and this is where Peridot comes in. Now, Steven is known to be annoying and screw up a lot of things. Maybe Peridot was created (with limb enhancers) because Steven wanted to get smarter and better. So she was made for the sole purpose of helping him out on whatever homework problem he was stuck on. Unfortunately, there's no Solid Evidence of her helping Steven out with his homework, so let's just say, this was before the show was aired and when he was in his kid years.
Once Steven hit his teenage years, Peridot got tired of doing his homework, so she made a spaceship to get to Homeworld after hearing about it. There is proof that she made it, because the walls are green, and she has unlimited knowledge on how it works, but that could be passed on as a coincidence, because any other Peridot could've made it. Now dreading to go to Earth for her mission, despising the Crystal Gems, she gets poofed after a few episodes. Why does she have limb enhancers? Why is she so cute after she got poofed? Well, Steven actually thought she was a legitimate threat, but realized she wasn't that scary, thus probably thinking of a "what if" statement in his brain to get rid of them after she poofed.
Peridot is also shown to hate the Crystal Gems, heck even despising Steven and calling him annoying! But since Steven does have limited Coconut Fred powers, Peridot grows fond of him and respects him, even to the point where she rejects going back with Yellow Diamond! The rest they say, is history from there.
"What about Lapis?" Well, Lapis was created as Steven's feelings as he Matures. Back when the show was annoying, Steven was naïve to everything around him, until he realizes the Gems are not perfect like he envisioned. Maybe Steven made Lapis because he was so sad about maturing and growing up into adulthood. He needed someone to relate to, thus making Lapis a reality.
"What about Bismuth?" Dang, you're desperate! Bismuth was actually created as Steven's "Childhood Protector" of all sorts. Bismuth is seen to be happy, easy-going, and loud, but sometimes sad. Maybe the reason why Bismuth was created was because Steven had the urge not to grow up, and not to be a stick-in-the-mud, so he made Bismuth to find that sadness (Lapis) and get rid of it.
"Jasper too?" Well, Jasper did know Pink Diamond before meeting Steven, so she was made by Coconut Fred. Maybe Steven had to make a Bully-like Character, so Steven made her after Peridot left for Homeworld, just to give Peridot a challenge after going back. Maybe it's Steven's form of Revenge? I don't know. You can make your own assumptions in the comments about her...
"What about Lion as well?" Really? You want Lion too!? Okay, Fine. Lion could have been made from Steven's need of a pet lion. Maybe Steven had a Lion Plushie, or thought the "Lion Lickers" ice cream bars looked cuddly, thus making Lion a new companion.
Now once he made all these characters, Steven had no idea how he made them, or heck, even who they are when he meets them. Probably because he has no idea on how he made them in the first place. Unfortunately, Steven cannot think of what they look like specifically, or what their names are, thus saying "Who are you"? After he's seen them.
This could also explain why he can't summon his shield a lot. As a kid, you're naïve to a supernatural power you have, like Harry not knowing how to use his wand in the Harry Potter series. Steven doesn't know how his Coconut Fred powers work, thus assuming that he has to eat Cookie Cats to trigger it. By assumption, Gem weapons are meant to be made out of the strong imagination used by the Gems, summoning them at any time. Steven chooses to summon his gem weapon only to protect the ones he loves, so there's that.
"But wait! Peridot doesn't have a Gem Weapon! She uses Metal Bending Powers!" Oh contraire my friend, they're summoned by a Strong Imagination. Since Peridot only relies on facts, her imagination isn't as strong as most other Gems. Even though she tries, she cannot make an exact weapon. But after her iPad gets thrown into the Ocean, her desire and will to try and get it combines imagination and willpower to let her use Metal Bending instead of simply imagining a Gem Weapon.
Assumptions Are Over!
Now that you heard my stupid story about each and every one of these Gems and their Backstories, what connects this altogether? What piece of Evidence leads that Coconut Fred exists in the Same Universe? Well, I have one word to say: Dogcopter.

Now excuse me, I have a theory to write. I think PPG 2016 and Mike Tyson Mysteries are connected, and everybody must know.
Somehow, I don't like PPG 2016, and to be honest with you, I hated Coconut Fred, even though it somewhat connects to SU's Lore, but if that sentence you said was meant to be taken as a joke, I say, hats off to you! xD
