For those of you who haven't heard of the Milgram experiment, you should probably search it up on Google before or even after this story has been read. The reason I say this is because I based it off the Milgram experiments but exaggerated and made it a little more... twisted.
This is not my best story but it sure as heck isn't my last, so I hope you enjoy the read.

Our cat’s name is Taco; I believe her name is the reason she’s grumpy all the time. She’s healthy with orange and white striped fur. Taco was a great companion; I just had to take her with me to the trials.

I’m interested in learning and when an advert came up in my local newspaper looking for volunteers, I immediately signed up. Once I arrived on the grounds, there were dozens of others already making their ways inside – tucking Taco’s cage under my arm as to not shake her too much, I raced for it. I slammed into the door; Taco’s cage flew up in the air and I collapsed on the gravel. After the initial confusion faded a car parked next to me, the driver got out of the car and helped me whilst covering his mouth with his free arm, he seemed to giggle but I took little notice. Brushing off pieces of gravel from my shoulders he turned his back to me and picked up Taco’s cage. “Follow me, Scott” he chirped as we walked around the building to a back entrance, all the while he faced forward.

The room was hit with a bright light and there were all these pictures on the walls of sick people, some with jaundiced eyes and others with jaws hanging loosely off their faces; one of them blinked. Entering a new chamber filled with nothing but three chairs, one of which had electrical wires drooping from the armrests. I was instructed to sit in a chair next to a box with ten tiny levers – each one could be flicked by a fingertip and under each was a voltage number, increasing from left to right. The man from earlier left the room and took Taco with him, I could hear him moments later in another room as the walls weren’t too thick. Loud gunshots and screams broke what seemed like an everlasting silence; his voice demanded one of them to come into the room. Followed by a pistol a hairless and tall man thundered in panicked and scared. “This is Scott, one of our professionals here, Scott meet Charlie; he shall be our first learner” announced the crazed gunman before stuffing Charlie into a chair and applying the wires to his forehead. I was confused, he kept calling me Scott and I just didn’t get it. The marksman called himself Doc, short for Doctor, yet I doubt anyone would give this man a medical license. I was forced to give poor Charlie a series of questions and to feed him increasing volts of electricity every time he got a question wrong – his brain was fried by question five, we continued. Watching his lifeless body flop around I reached the end of the levers and Doc dragged him to another room before bringing in another person and another and another. Dozens of people electrified to death, I’m still not sure why I did it, I’m not sure how “It’s essential that you continue” made me carry on. Doc finished up the last patient and threw her teenage body into another room. I was thanked for my time by Doc and as a gift he gave me a box. He called it an orange scarf to wear on winter days but it was Taco. He left the room and I was alone with my thoughts. I didn’t want to be here, I can’t imagine anyone wanting to be here. The loss of hope dawned on me when I realized that he had run out of participants. I was next.
