We (BlueCube and CreeperSoul23) had been brainstorming this story for a while, planning on creating an animation out of it. But us both being busy (and sorta lazy), we decided to put that on hold and turn it into a blog story for now. This is a collaboration between CreeperSoul23 and BlueCube but for now its just going to be on CreeperSoul23's profile. So, if you want to keep tabs on it be sure to stay tuned there. A good bit of work and thinking is going into these, so we hope you enjoy!
The Mishap Adventures: Infection (Part1)
It was nearing night. The blocky sun casted its last orange rays across the water. The duo in the boat drifted lifelessly across the open ocean. They had gone days without food or good water. The one, Zack, was already out cold. His friend, Blue, was struggling to keep consciousness on his last ounce of stamina. The ocean was calm. Not a wind to guide their boat. Not a single piece of land in the endless expanse of water. Soon, both the day, and the friends, slipped into darkness...
Zack opended his eyes. He winced at the intense sunlight, and closed them again. His stomach forced him to stay awake as it gnawed at his insides. He lay there for a moment, motionless. Wait... he thought to himself. Motionless... There was no rocking of the boat! He sat bolt upright, immediately regretting it as pain shot through his body. There was sand caked to his back and--- the boat, or the remnants of it, were scattered on the edge of the shore. "Uh... Blue?" He looked to his right, spotting his friend's body. He lay there, face planted in a block of sand. "Blue!"
"Ungh..." Blue grunted, without the slightest movement. Zack moved toward him, still suffering pain from the rough landing. "Blue...! You ok!?"
Blue lifted his head and spit out a clump of sand. "Yeah. yeah. What is it? ...Wait."
Zack gloomily looked back at what had been their boat. "Yeah. A bit of a crash landing." Blue sat up very slowly. "Argh. Say... you still have your headphones." Zack jerked his hand to his head, and sighed in relief.
"And you still have your diamond pick. How'd you manage that?" Zack mention, chuckling.
"Really?" Blue said as he lifted his right hand, which indeed held his prized diamond pickaxe. "Oh. I guess so." He blinked a few times, then shook his head to get rid of excess sand. "Can't your headphones determine our position, Zack?"
Zack tinkered with his head set for a minute and gave an annoyed look. "We must be really out in the middle of nowhere. The radar is bonkers."
Blue looked up at the sky. "Well, we'd better not just sit here. Its nearing night. The last thing we need is an encounter with zombies." Zack tossed Blue an extra head set.
"Here. Just in case. I'll go look for a shelter. You stay here and gather some food." Zack dashed off onto the island as Blue began searching.
Zack let out a deep sigh. He found a rocky cliff, but there didn't seem to be any cave or even and inlet. Then he heard something. Very faint. He adjusted a setting on his head set and waited. It came again. This time it was a low gurgling roar. Zack stopped dead in his tracks. He immediately looked up. The daylight was still enough to detain zombies... The noise sounded again and Zack decided to follow it. After more adjusting he set out along the edge of the cliff. He trecked about 75 blocks and stumbled upon a cave at last. However, the sound emitted even louder from deep within. Zack took a deep swallow, and plunged inside.
A lone figure stumbled in the darkeness. Where am I? That one and only thought filled his mind. Off in the distance he spotted a faint green glow. It was light. He didn't care about anything else. The light came from no seeable source and filled only a small corner. The figure promplty sat in the corner breathing heavy. His memory was fuzzy. He struggled to remember anything. Where? Why? Nothing came to him. In frustration he stared at his hands. Then he noticed. He noticed his left arm. It was completely black and wrinkled, purple glowing particles emitted from a few of its pores. Horror instantly filled him. A lump caught in his throat. Then he remembered. Two words. Torture. Experiment. He began to pant faster and his eyes watered in his fearful confusion. He looked up for no reason, but saw something he would never forget. A large monster loomed over him. It resembled a spider or some multi-legged creature. Its eyes glowed, casting the green light in the corner. It smelled of rotting flesh and unknown substances dripped from its frame. It let out a low roar as rotten fluid seeped from its jaws. The man was too afraid to yell. Too afraid to move. Then it lunged. Instinct moved him. He ran. Ran for his life.
Zack ventured deeper, the only light was coming from his head set. He kept walking, his footsteps echoing off the walls. Unexpectedly, he came into collision with a solid object. "Ow..." A bit dazed, Zack took a step back and focused the light beam straight ahead. It was some type of iron door. After a quick examination, His head set revealed redstone circuitry in the walls. "That redstone must open the door." He again adjusted his headphones and after a few seconds pistons creaked and the door opened. "Heheheh," Zack chuckled as he entered. It was a long hallway made of iron, which had rusted over time. He stopped, then heard a scream. A bone chilling scream. One that not even the most ghastly zombie could incur. He dashed into the darkness leaving the last light of the entrance behind.
Not long later, Zack stumbled upon a horrible scene. An indescribable creature had what seemed to be a man pinned to the floor. In desperation, Zack yelled. The creature's many glowing green eyes turned upon him. Zack stood there for a moment then decided what he would do. "Hey ya big hunk 'a garbage! I'd make a better meal!" No really I wouldno t...!, he thought to himself as the monster lunged toward him. It covered more distanced than he had anticipated and its heavy landing knocked him to the ground. Zack's headphones slipped off his head and clattered to the floor. "Crap!" Zack reached to grab them but was swept against the wall by the beast. His eyes widened as it lunged for him once again, this time pinning him to the cold iron surface.
Blue looked around. There were no mobs in sight. Luckily, he spotted some coconut trees on the shor. Wait... He thought to himself. I've never seen a coconut tree before... He put his thoughts aside and started picking as many as he could. Soon, he had to rest. The coconuts were very bland but provided what he needed. He sat down, and started to draw in the sand with his pickaxe. A while later, he glanced at the sky again. The moon was looming overhead and shadows began to creep across the island. "Oh for the love of Notch, what's taking him so long??" He picked up the spare headphones and fiddled with the various buttons and dials. None of them seemed to do anything. Then, all of the sudden, a shrill beeping
emitted from them. Blue, after nearly leaping out of his skin, quickly put them on. It appeared to be some sort of distress signal pointing him in a direction. "Its probably from the other head--- Zack's in trouble!" Blue leaped up and ran as fast as he could toward the island.
