The bombs came first, shaking the Tower. Then the Thralls. They killed Guardians before they understood what was unfolding. The monsters came in overwhelming mobs, and forced everyone to retreat backwards in a matter of seconds, transforming the Tower the Guardians call home into chaos. They fall, one by one. Then came the others. Acolytes, Wizards, Knights, Ogres. The Guardians found themselves soon to be backed up against the walls, firing their guns in a desperate attempt to keep the Hive away from them. For Titans, this wasn’t as hard as the others found it. They swing their fists and knock back every monster that charged towards them. Their machine guns mow down every enemy in sight. Hunters, however, perished very quickly, for their specialty is in accuracy at long ranges, and their hand cannons fire slowly, unable to stop all the beasts swiftly sprinting to them. Warlocks wielded their Light to create barricades for the people of the Tower without Light, and wielded it to burn the Hive. Despite all the Guardians’ attempts, however, the monsters did not seem to decrease in firepower. And then He came.
He landed on the Tower plaza, creating huge cracks on the ground. He was the size of a god, with a great sword and a mystical green glow around his monstrous body. The Tower was plunged into Darkness. His presence seemed to have blocked out the Sun. The Guardians felt something dying inside themselves. He was consuming their Light.
Xûr was observing the scene from a high place, unseen, as if everything was normal and expected. He recognised something in Him. Eris appeared next to him.
‘If that really is He, we will not be able to survive this attack.’ She says calmly.
‘It is. I am sure of it. I have seen Him before.’
‘Then help us.’ Eris’ tone showed a hint of anger, though she knew it was not something
"Xûr" could choose to do. Not yet, anyways.
‘I cannot. I am trapped between our dimensions. Or have you forgotten?’
‘I have not. But what are we to do?’
‘Use your Light.’
‘There is none left in either of us.’
‘No, Eris. No matter how much he eats away at us, Light can never be taken by the Darkness. They fear it, for if the Dark has Light, it would no longer be Dark. Light has gone from you, but it will never leave you. It is the same with I, which is why I shall return to the world. Goodbye for now.’ With that, Xûr disappeared into the Darkness.
Eris returned to Ikora, helping civilians take refuge in the lower parts of the Tower, where the Hive had not reached yet. She returned with news that told that they would need to relocate very soon.
‘Is it He?’ Ikora asked. She expected her answer.
‘Yes,’ Eris replied solemnly. ‘It is Oryx.’

As a kid, I’ve always loved writing narratives, so I thought I should write some Destiny fan fiction for you guys! What I plan to write is a mini-series of sorts. This part, the Shattered, is of an invasion from the Hive. There will be three other mini-series, each one about the other three alien races from Destiny. (The Fallen on Earth, the Vex on Venus, the Cabal on Mars) The title of each, by the way, will all be named after the main protagonist of the series the name belongs to (you'll see at the bottom). Can you guess which person that is for this (characters are all actual characters from the Destiny videogame)series? He/she has already been in this Part.
The Machine - The Vex and the Exo Stranger
The Royal - The Queen of the Reef and the Fallen
The _____- Name for the Cabal story has not yet been decided, since in Destiny there hasn't been anything particularly exciting with the Cabal. I will try. In this one, however, characters may not be real from the game.
