Five Years Later…..

“She’s right over here, my king”, Zach said to Roger, who was followed by a squadron of guards. “She better be here”, threatened Roger. “If we went all the way here for nothing-““Don’t worry, my king”, Zach said, grinning. The smile showed all of his unusually pointy teeth. “We just need to get up there.” The guards began to climb, still holding Roger’s throne. “Don’t drop me!” The king said angrily. “We’ve reached it, your sire”, said the guard who yelled at Denise and Candy a full five years ago. “Candy!” Roger commanded. “Come out here, or are you too scared?”

“I didn’t expect you to talk about games of the past, nor put a traitor at your side”, a voice said inside the cave. That doesn’t sound like the girl I met five years ago, Zach thought. Roger must’ve agreed with Zach’s thoughts, but instead of being confused, looked scared. “C-come out here!” Roger yelled, his voice shaking slightly. “W-we’re not afraid!” “You’re not afraid?” the voice said. “Then come in.” Roger looked at Zach for reassurance, but Zach wouldn’t give him any. “I command you to c-come out!” Roger commanded. “If you don’t, you will be violating an official law!” “The law is to obey your commands? I don’t think so”, the voice responded. The voice chilled Zach to the bones, and he wasn’t a coward. He forced himself to be brave. “Listen to your king!” He commanded. “Why must I listen to a traitor?” The voice asked.

“I am not a traitor!”

“You are to me.”

Maybe I shouldn’t have lied to Candy, Zach thought. Now we have to deal with her. “What do you mean Zach’s a traitor to you?” Roger asked. “Not just a traitor to me; Zach is a traitor to you as well,” said the voice. “In the past, five whole years ago, he captured and killed guards. I’m sure you didn’t know that, Roger.” “I didn’t know that,” Roger said, casting an angry glance at Zach. “I definitely didn’t know that.” Ugh, thought Zach. Candy is going to ruin everything! “Why don’t you come in?” the voice drawled. “There’s plenty of room.” “You come out,” Zach said.

“I suppose, just to end these childish games, I can come out,” the voice said. And then the creator of this voice did come out, in all its dark glory. Black wings spread out behind a figure of a girl, a figure very familiar to everyone watching. Candy’s familiar pink hair covered up the bottoms of dark horns, which sprouted from her head. Her already green eyes turned to a toxic green. In her hands, she held a staff with a jewel embedded in it, the same color as her eyes. Everyone stood in shock at the girl. “Surprised, aren’t you?” She drawled. “I expected as much from you.”
