there are a lot for things that you can do to improve your mining skills,your building skils,and your hunting and gathering skills,here are some of the many tips and tricks you can learn to improve your mining skills

1. Never dig under your self. you might fall in a lava pit and burn to death.allways be careful when mining.
   
2. Use the stir step meathod.if you are looking o cave or just want to get some cobbiile stone it is vary helpful if you use this meathod i have used it in all of my minecraft worlds and it is vary good method for costum maps
   
3. Becareful around lava.as you no lava can kill you if you fall in it.Be a smart miner and mine around the lava to avoid commeting sucide.you can also build around the lava to get what your goal is.that is a helpful tip if you find dimonds but there is lava around them
   
4. finaly,bring a lot of food and pick axes to mine with.bring a lot of food just incase you get hungrey while mining,you do not want to stop mining just so you can go get food.bring a nuff pick axes to mine with.you do not want to bring 1 pick, no you need to bring at least 4 or 5.
   

here are some helpful tips and tricks on bulding.remember build what ever you want .in minecraft your imagination is the limite

1. Make sure you have the metarils that you need to build.have you ever had a moment were you were building a hous and you did not have a nuff of the thing you needed. i have them a lot,i will get a picature in my head of a simple little house and it will turn out to be a gigantic house.tools are important to have when building. i know what you are thinking,minecraft is based off of crafting tools but just incase you mess up by placing the wrong block.
   

Last but not least hunting and gathering.i use thease tips all the time.they help me out a lot when i am hunting and gathering.

1. have the right materials to hunt.as you know a good sword and bow will work when hunting.i often use a dispenser when i hunt. i will load it up with arrows and go off and do somthing else.this is good for both hunting and gathering.this meathod of hunting for when your need some food but you do not want to take time and hunt.
   
2. finding materials like wood and coal.Wood is the most easiest thing thing to find if your in the right biome and if there are trees around you.Coal, on the other hand, is located in caves and sometmes in a open area if your are lucky.coal is a resource that is to die for in minecraft
