Before you start reading : This mostly work on smaller server that recently started up but it does still give you a chanse to become admin on almost any server.

Tip nr.1 : Know the language

You must ALWAYS know what language to speak.
Lets for example take a Norwegian server. If you speak any other language than norwegian you will most likely be banned. If you do not know the lagnuage their speaking try english.
Since english is the world's most used (supposedly) its very usefull to know.

Tip nr.2 : Be as friendly as possible

Many servers have unfriendly players and that makes it not so difficult to point out that "that guy" is friendly and respectfull. This is also how many owners pick out their admins and moderators.
As well as giving you a good picture it gives you many friends on the server and a good reputation.

Tip nr.3 : Your skillset

Its very helpfull to have a set of skill such as world edit , coding etc.
Everyone gets a certaint amount of skillsets after playing minecraft after a while.
If you do not have a skillset then you should try out many of the things minecraft involves such as
terraforming , texturing or coding. Make sure to show them off too.

Tip nr.4 : Chat

To gain some good reputation you should use the chat alot.
This gives you the opportunity to gain friends and become friends with the server staff.
Getting friends amongst the staff gives you great reputation and the owner(s) will most
likely hear about you and how great you are.

Tip nr.5 : Grammar

On most server the grammar is very usefull.
If you know how to have a medium grammar while chatting you will
gain even more reputation.
Make sure to THANK grammar nazi's when they correct you because you become a little better at grammar (which is always good).

Tip nr.6 : Be yourself

If you arent yourself the admins can smell that your just there for the admin spot and that gives you less chanse of becoming an admin. If you mix together these tips adn yourself you have the perfect admin.

Tip nr.7 : Do anything the owner tells you (if its not for "jokez")

If you have a good connection between you and the owner he/she will most likely ask you to
do some tasks which he/she will be great if you complete the task.
