I know there are a lot of things like this, but I am hoping to add a few more things to the long combined list of tips.

1. Your rank doesn't matter. I know you may be eager to unlock new classes, but, honestly, the harder you try to level up, the less successful you will be. Just let people do what they want; don't force them to give diamonds or subs if they don't want to, because people don't like that. I recommend saying, "If you like this, please give a diamond", or something like that, if you feel the need to suggest it.

2. Don't abuse the update log. I admit that I used to do this, but, if I could delete update logs, I would. Abusing the update log is annoying and an underhanded way to get xp. It forces your project to the top, displacing other projects that are using the update log honestly. Too many times I have seen update logs that say, "bump", or "100 diamonds!" or things like that. I believe that things like, "updated pics", or things like that, are OK if you only do them once in a blue moon, but even then, try to include them as sidenotes in more important update logs.

3. Be nice to people. Don't expect anything in return, but being nice to people makes you feel good, and, quite often, does have other positive results. If somebody comments on your project, do your best to reply and thank them. Reach out and give compliments to other people, and if somebody subscribes to you, or gives a diamond, or comments, or anything like that, check out their profile. It is an excellent way to make them feel appreciated, and, sometimes, you might find somebody worth subscribing to, or at least you will have a new friend that you may never have made otherwise.

4. Don't feel pressured to push out projects. Take your time, and make sure that your work is the best that you can do. I understand if the occasional project is rushed, like if you have a great idea for a christmas-themed project...on Christmas eve, but even then try to make sure that it is high-quality. I also find that taking extra screenshots, even if you do not think that you will post them, is a great way to catch errors ahead of time.

5. Think before you say things. If somebody writes something that makes you angry, don't respond right away. That's a sure way to say something that you will regret later. Instead, spend at least an hour thinking about something else, and then spend time trying to see the other person's point of view. Often, you will find that their comment may have been well-intentioned, but badly worded, or perhaps you will find that your initial anger was an overreaction. Occasionally you will decide not to dignify the comment with any sort of response.

6. Never attack another PMC member. I am not saying that if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything. I am saying that, if you think that somebody's project is crap, don't say, "your project is crap." Instead, say something like, "Nice job, but I think that if you change this, or remove that, you might be able to make it even better." Always suggest as opposed to demand. Words like "should" or "need" are no-nos. Instead, try to use phrases like, "might I suggest..." or "perhaps you could consider...". Remember that what you say is only an opinion, and not a fact, and do your best to word it appropriately.

7. Make your work distinctive. This is not always easy, or even possible, but it usually helps to put your own spin on things; to have a certain style, so people can see your work and immediately know, "that's so-and-so's work." Having a distinctive style gives people a reason to choose your work over others: it's unique, even if there are other interpretations of it out there. This has another bonus: if somebody tries to steal your project, people will know it is yours because only you build things in that fashion.

8. Don't steal projects. This one seems like a no-brainer, but I have seen it far to often. I imagine people do this because they think that they can get away with it and get diamonds, subs, favorites, etc, because they stole a good project. This is never worth it. It Always backfires. Thieves WILL be caught, the content WILL be removed, and, not only will they lose all the ill-gotten diamonds and favorites, but when word gets out, people who previously had subscribed will unsubscribe; nobody wants ANYTHING to do with a thief. If you steal a project, you will ALWAYS be worse off in the end. ALWAYS.

9. Post screenshots. The number and quality of screenshots is the number two best way to make a project popular, aside from just plain making a high-quality project. Successful screenshots show the project from good angles, reveal interesting aspects of the project, and perhaps even hint at something more, without showing what that something is. I cannot counthow many times I have seen somebody post a random image from the internet and no pictures of the project itself. If you do not show the project, people will assume that it is bad, and move on. Whenever possible, I recommend using a shaders mod, or a program like Chunky, to make the cover image of a project look good.

Overall, the best way to become a successful PMC member is not to take any direct approach. The best approach is to treat other people well. If you do nice things to other people, usually they will do nice things to you. And don't be upset if some people ignore your comments and don't give back, because that does happen. But most people will give kindness back, and, if nothing else, at least you know that you are doing the right thing.

I really agree with the update log abuse. Everyone does it, including you and me before (yes, I just did once.....), but it's the correction from mistake that's valuable :)
