I will first warn you that although the language seems harsh towards people that want it, You have to remember that I'm trying to speak against the idea, not people that came up with the idea (My Minecraft buddy was the 1st person I heard suggest #12)
Have you ever seen a suggestion for what should be in Minecraft that you think "Ugh, that will NEVER be in Minecraft?" Here's my Top 12! These are chosen by a mix of how often they are suggested, and how naive they are.
12: Knives. What would they do? All I could think is being an extremely weaker version of the sword that instantly cuts vines.
11: Beta/Alpha/Infdev/Indev/Classic Terrain Generator. This one and Number 12 are the two that I think have a SLIGHT possibility of making it into Minecraft. It's just that I don't think they would put time into adding terrain generators they spent time REMOVING. As much as I want this (REALLY MUCH) I want this, we just have to face facts that this will probably never happen. On the bright side, there's the Better Terrain Generator 4 mod, which includes Beta, Alpha, Infdev, and Indev generators, as well as a Better Default, Skyblock, Sky Island, and Island.
10. Stone/Iron/Gold A.K.A Butter/Diamond sticks. What would this do? It would be a waste of materials, that's what it would do!
9.Emerald, Lapiz, or Nether Quartz Armor/Tools. These would all get rid of the points of these. Want to trade 9 emeralds for chestplate? DON'T! Instead, craft it with 8! Want Lapiz clay to deck out your house? NOPE! You NEED that Lapiz pickaxe! Want a beautiful white house decorated in Nether Quartz Blocks? DO NOT! Quartz Swords are AWESOME!
8. Realistic Texture Pack replacing Default: The default texture pack was made to be appealing to the eye to classic gamers. NOT GRAPHICS IDIOTS, OR PEOPLE WHO HAVE SEEN A LOT OF MOVIES BUT HAVE NEVER PLAYED A VIDEO GAME OUTSIDE OF MINECRAFT IN THEIR LIVES!
7. Herobrine. Not even gonna explain.
6. Deathmatch/Capture The Flag/Zombies Mode. Minecraft isn't a First Person Shooter, and we have minigames for all three, and it's commonly said that Capture The Flag was the first Minecraft Mini-Game, and there's Minecraft servers DEDICATED to Zombies everywhere. I don't even think it would work well, as much as I would play Minecraft Deathmatch. And yes, I do know that CTF was a planned feature at one point.
5. Trucks. And I actually want this! The fact is that there should not be technology in Minecraft's natrual setting, and I don't know how you would craft that!
4. Redstone Armor/Tools. I could have put this on #9, but this is especially stupid. At least those two had the driving force that there is not enough things to do with those materials. There's lots to do with redstone, and it's too common.
3. Trains. Yet another feature I want. Fact is, as nice as a faster method of rail transportation that holds more people would be, too advanced for Minecraft.
2. MOTORCYCLES. This is the DUMBEST vehicle request you can have. I think people started joking about it from the 1.6 Update Song. This is the most relatively new vehicle I can think of! (Hybrids count as cars/trucks/SUVs)

Anyone who thinks that mojang will replace the default texture pack is horrible miskeaken.
I defiantly agree with you on emerald tool and armor, the reason why they brought emeralds into the game rather then using gold as the currency is because you don't use emeralds to craft anything but an emerald block
Lapi tools-So you want to rely on a soft dye material to protect yourself and kill enemies?
Redstone tools-So you expect sprinkling dust on yourself will protect yourself? your going to make a tool out of dust?
Now about trains, I don't think there will be trains but I really think they should make powered minecarts more powerful and they should increase the speed of minecartsà à à so we have a reason to spend tons of iron on a railroad rather then riding a horse.

I really don't want vanilla minecraft to become tekkit or watever.
