Hello guys!
I'm here today to talk about a new idea I've been thinking of.
As you know, getting diamond isn't a trouble anymore in servers
due to the fact of x-ray texture packs and many hacks that servers
are not even catching. Not only this, I wanted to balance
"The more you work, the more you earn."
meaning you should have more expensive

gear because you worked harder.
Sadly this isn't the case, often because you can find diamonds quickly.
So I decided, how could we help this?

Well this isn't only for servers, it could be a way to make Minecraft more fun!
What is my idea perhaps? Well here is the basic idea:

My idea of "Tier Ores" are for ores such as diamond, iron, gold, or even coal.
As you know a diamond is worth the equivalent of another piece of diamond.

You cannot go up to someone and say, "My diamond is better than your diamond."
Because there is absolutely no difference at all... well what if we can change this?

Let's begin with this, here is our basic diamond:
minecraft-diamond-picpng

As you can see, nothing much to it?
Let's say if you and your buddy had 2 diamonds, after mining separately and
you spent two hours underground, while your bud' spent 20 minutes.
Overall you had 2 stacks of diamond, while he had 25.
You both were to craft swords, armor, duel, and both attack at the exact same times.
It would technically be a draw, if none of you had any armor of sorts.
So how could we change this in vanilla minecraft?

My idea is to make different tiers of diamond.

Such as "Diamond Shard", "Diamond Fragment, "Raw Diamond, and "Pure Diamond"
These are just ideas, and could obviously be changed. Let's go over what these are.

These are the four different tiers of diamonds you will be offered with.
It goes from lowest to highest tiered, and as you can see the original diamond is sort
of in between. Each of these tiers will change the result of your crafting recipe of every item.
I said this because changing the crafting recipe of every item that involves diamond
to four different tiers would work.

NOW WOULD WHAT DO I DO WITH THE LOWER TIERS?

Okay, yes you are probably thinking you have to craft Diamond Shards, into Diamond Fragments, then smelted into Raw Diamond. The only exception is the Pure Diamond. Which cannot be crafted nor smelted, only acquired from mining. Yes although those are true, you can also use ANY of those
materials to build the normal recipes.

WHAT DO I MEAN BY THAT?
I am saying that you can turn eight Diamond Shards into a full chestplate without having to go
to the highest tier. But how is this possible?
What would happen is, it would create a lower tiered chestplate.

Such as "Broken Chestplate".
This is what Diamond Shards would turn into.
I will go through the crafting recipes later.

The Different Tier Diamonds:

Normal Crafting Recipes For Diamond Armor/Tools:

Fourth Tier - Diamond Shard:
DiamondShardpng
Description: This is the lowest tiered diamond. Found some-what commonly between layer 5 and 30. Sometimes the ore gives nothing, 25% of the time.
Do not expect to get easily!
This diamond is weak, and durability lasts very shortly.
Can be useful if you collect enough.
Could get 20 in one 15 minutes mining trip easily.

Crafting Recipes:

Arranged in normal crafting recipe order.

Armor:
The outcome of these armor will be entirely different though.
They will create "Broken" tiered sets. So instead of
"Diamond Helmets" it will create "Broken Diamond Helmet".
The helmet will be incredibly cracked and pieces will be missing. Also a dull color.
The durability will be as long as a gold armor set, and the

efficiency will be the equivalent as a gold armor set.

CRAFTING TO DIAMOND FRAGMENT:
Requires 4 Diamond Shards
Place in crafting table, shape of a "t".

Like Below:
+

Tools/Weapon:

Equivalent to its Golden form. Durability and Efficiency Wise.

They will also produce a jukebox that squeaks and blows up after 5 minutes.
They will also produce an enchantment table that only levels up to 5.
Creates a Broken Diamond Block. Cracked and Dull.

Third Tier - Diamond Fragment:

nhRNTMSpng

Description: This is the third-lowest tiered diamond. Found averagely between layer 5 and 28. This diamond is some-what weak, and durability lasts lower than average
Can be smelted into raw diamond.

Crafting Recipes:

Arranged in normal crafting recipe order.

Armor:
The outcome of these armor will be some-what different as well.
They will create "Worn" tiered sets. So instead of
"Diamond Boots" it will create "Worn Diamond Boots".
The boot will be somewhat cracked. Would be less shinier.
The durability will be as long as a leather set, and the

efficiency will be the equivalent as a chain armor set.

Tools/Weapon:

Equivalent to its Wooden form Durability wise.
Equivalent to its Stone Efficiency wise.

They will also produce a jukebox that squeaks and cracks.
They will also produce an enchantment table that only levels up to 10.
Creates a Worn Diamond Block. Scratched and Dull..

Second Tier - Raw Diamond:

minecraft-diamond-picpng

Description: Basically the normal diamond, is found in between
layer 0 and 15. Found uncommonly. Also it could be smelted.
It requires 1 diamond fragment, and burns an equivalent of 10 coal.
Somewhat expensive to smelt.

Crafting Recipes:

Arranged in normal crafting recipe order.

Armor:
The outcome of these armor will be almost normal.
They will create "Raw" tiered sets. So instead of
"Diamond Leggings" it will create "Raw Diamond Leggings".
The leggings will be normal looking diamond leggings. Would be some-what shiny.
The durability will be as long as a diamond set, and the

efficiency will be the equivalent as a iron armor set.

Tools/Weapon:

Equivalent to its Diamond form Durability wise.
Equivalent to its Iron Efficiency wise.

They will also produce a normal jukebox.
They will also produce an enchantment table that only levels up to 20.
Creates a Raw Diamond Block. KIND OF SHINY!

First Tier - Pure Diamond:

MbXHLjpng

Description: This is the highest tiered diamond. Found incredibly rarely
between layer 1 and 8. Cannot be found in open-air/cave.
Meaning you have to carve it of the wall to discover it.

This diamond is the strongest, and durability lasts very long.
Unbelievably hard to find, and could profit very well.

Crafting Recipes:

Arranged in normal crafting recipe order.

Armor:
The outcome of these armor will be some-what different as well.
They will create "Pure" tiered sets. So instead of
"Diamond Chestplate" it will create "Pure Diamond Chestplate".
The chestplate will be absolutely fabulous. Would be gloriously shiny.
The durability will be as long as a Diamond Armor + Unbreaking III, and the

efficiency will be the equivalent as a Diamond Armor + Protection II.
Enchantments are still allowed!

Tools/Weapon:

Equivalent to its Diamond form + Unbreaking III, Durability wise.
Equivalent to its Diamond form + Efficiency III/Sharpness III Efficiency wise.
(Depends on whether it is a sword or a tool.)

They will also produce a jukebox that plays normally, plus a bonus song
that comes with the jukebox. (I have no clue what song :D)
They will also produce an enchantment table that only levels up to 30.

Creates a Pure Diamond Block. GLORIOUSLY SHINY!!

Now there is a variety of ores that can be used.
So now lets rethink the duel that you and your friends had.
There is a very little chance you both have the same tier diamonds
due to the fact that you spent a dramatic difference of time mining.
You may have gotten Pure Diamonds, while he was only able to get
the highest, Fragments. You would obviously win the battle.

THIS BALANCES OUT
"THE MORE YOU WORK,
THE MORE YOU EARN."

Obviously there are a lot of things you can add to this idea.
This is just my basic idea.

This also implements to the other ores!
I hope you enjoyed my ideas.
If you see anything wrong please comment, and I will update right away!

Thanks for reading.
Cheers!

What do you mean by that?
:P
You mean the levels?
Because that wouldn't really make sense if a diamond shard gives the same level as a pure diamond.
Also thanks a lot :D

Yea but I didn't put enchantment in the equation.
Yes many people do have enchantment, but there is no enchantment in vanilla minecraft servers etc with Sharpness V, Fire Aspect V, and etc... so I mean Pure Diamond Sword could probably beat a Broken Diamond Sword with sharpness V.
