Wandering traders are those annoying things with llamas that you probably kill all the time. But imagine what life would be like for them.

Wandering traders move from village to village, sometimes encountering players on the way. They are accompanied by unique llamas, and they drink invisibility potions when at night or when attacked, and at dawn, they drink milk to remove the invisibility. They can sell certain items to players for a price of emeralds, but they cannot buy items from players.

Nowadays, players don't treat them nicely anymore. As far as they remember, players used to trade items with them, so they wouldn't defend themselves by drinking the potion near players (they thought nothing more about players). That makes them an easy target for players, since they don't have any other form of defense apart from their llamas, something that are not much of a threat to most players.

Because they don't have that much defense, no wandering trader who has met a player since they started killing them has lived to tell the tale. That means wandering traders still unknowingly risk their lives every time they meet a player.
