I'm learning java, I'm wanting a book, I know of a book called java for dummies but does anyone know of a cheaper book. This one costs $26 thanks

start with scratch or bash, and then java.
tip: assembler is fast.

Actually html isnt a programing language.
Its code but not programing.

For everyone below sayingthat HTML is a good starting language:

HTML really isn't a good place to start,
unless you're planning to be a web developer.
You'll want to start with an actual programming
language such as Python, as you will learn basic programming concepts so
you can continue to learn better languages such as C++/Java.

Once you're done with Python, continue to a more powerful object oriented programming
language, and decide whether you should choose Java or C++/C#.

So if you want to be an actual programmer (Applications, games etc): Start with something like Python

If you're going to be a web developer: Start with HTML

Programming is a ''Meh'' to me. I like computer's from the inside more :D

To all beginners, start with Scratch. Sounds silly, but you get to know more about programming with just drag-and-drop blocks and make complicated things.
